My Place

My Place

Hi guys,

I just wanted to have a thread where I could talk about things that make me happy without bothering anyone else.

So on Sunday a week ago I planted some seeds into a metal tub. Some veggie seeds. Carrots, garlic chives and although it’s not the season for it I threw in some cucumber seeds.

Well yesterday, only a week after planting I noticed my first little green shoot. Then today, there are a bunch of green shoots. Funnily enough I think it’s the cucumbers that have come up first. I may have to make a cloche to help them grow in the cooler weather. The tub is sitting on a concrete path so hopefully that will help keep the soil a bit warmer. I moved them a bit more into the sunshine today as we noticed that the carport was casting shade on them quite early in the afternoon.

I am so happy to see their green little faces pushing up from under that dark earth. Gives me hope in all things. I love to watch things grow. It makes me happy to think that I have played a part in that.

Every day I water them and have a chat with them. How are you today my seeds? I hope that you will grow soon! Now I can encourage them to grow bigger and stronger.

I can’t wait to set up my other veggie garden and grow more things. I am especially looking forward to planting my tomatoes come spring.

Re: My Place

I stayed in motel at York for like a month years ago @Oaktree talked to a few locals in the end. Odd place, not all bad, I had work in Northam, would commute from there then chucked job in and negotiated weekly rate at motel as was technically homeless lol.

Glad you enjoyed it 😊 @StanD (roomie) re accom options theres a 3 star motel in adelaide I frequent, know the owner a bit. last time were homeless looking peeps in maybe 1/5th of rooms, must have been off season , well and govt paying ..

Hi guys,

Today I am feeling very happy with myself. I just got back from the bloodbank. I gave my first donation of plasma. 647mls and it only took 37 minutes which they said was fast. I am a good bleeder lol. I have another appointment for two weeks time. I haven’t given blood for 10 years because I wasn’t sure of my eligibility because I kept changing psychiatric medications. I have now been stable on the same medications for 2 1/2 years. I am pretty happy to be eligible again!

@faithandhope

I am jealous of all your fruit trees. I killed my peach and nectarine. I have baby dwarf lemon and lime trees. Waiting on them to grow. Need to get some citrus fertiliser when spring comes.
