Growth

Growth

I woke up with anxiety which led into panic attack most of the day I felt emotional and physical symptoms . I would usually go back to bed but I have a toddler that I had to take to play group it was important that he attended today for his social skills.

I knew I had to be strong and push through.

I had a few hours to myself I thought I’d have a look around the bookshop and it was hard to focus and concentrate I felt completely hijacked and I realised needed to get home , I manage to settle my toddler for the night, I felt the wave of emotion just flood me

I called Trauma line and I couldn’t work through this on my own , and the trauma counsellor was wonderful she help me work through it, then I remembered I bought a book and the book is about making change it and he’s for quotes for some of the most wisest people in the world.

I realised a part of me knew I was going to need self-care after working through these emotions,this book really helped such beautiful words and vibrant colours I cherish every part of me x

Today was a really tough day. But the positive is, this is growth and I’m proud of it.

@Aggie Hello

That can be a challenge. I learned my "Gently Bently" saying from a babysitter trying to keep things calm between my two girls. I loved it, but mostly use it to keep me going ... lol

Who is on the forum at any given time is very fluid. People pop on and off all the time.

@Appleblossom

Re: Growth

The babysitter, an older woman, mentioned she used the phrase gently bently to help calm my girls they were both toddlers at the time. @Aggie I was studying part time. Not a lot of babysitting, but it helped me a lot as a young mum in a very complicated parenting postion.

@Appleblossom ohhhhhh sorry I completely understand how lucky are you to have someone like that 🥰

I like that phrase gently Bentley it’s a awesome way to tell someone to relax and slow down

Re: Growth

It was over 30 years ago. It has humour and a gentle nuance. Demanding or bossing someone to calm down rarely works. @Aggie Anyway years later it kept occurring to me to include it in my own self talk. Its weird the things we encounter in life that are helpful. She cleaned my kettle and toaster once, cos she knew I was flat out, we were renovating as well. We were not in a position to have a lot of paid babysitting. Just a bit of random kindness ...
