Growth

I woke up with anxiety which led into panic attack most of the day I felt emotional and physical symptoms . I would usually go back to bed but I have a toddler that I had to take to play group it was important that he attended today for his social skills.

I knew I had to be strong and push through.

I had a few hours to myself I thought I’d have a look around the bookshop and it was hard to focus and concentrate I felt completely hijacked and I realised needed to get home , I manage to settle my toddler for the night, I felt the wave of emotion just flood me

I called Trauma line and I couldn’t work through this on my own , and the trauma counsellor was wonderful she help me work through it, then I remembered I bought a book and the book is about making change it and he’s for quotes for some of the most wisest people in the world.

I realised a part of me knew I was going to need self-care after working through these emotions, this book really helped such beautiful words and vibrant colours I cherish every part of me x

Today was a really tough day. But the positive is, this is growth and I’m proud of it.

Hello, @Aggie

Good on you! Not only did you overcome a difficult day, but you acknowledge your capacity for growth, aswell. That can take a lot of time and effort - especially with dependents to care for, besides!

Well done.

Coincidentally, I had a similar time of things yesterday. Even bought myself a book, too! 🙂 I know too well the frightful gloom of waking with anxiety, and how disabling it can be. Because I have to drop the kids off at school, it helps me get out the door atleast. Once out of the house I take the opportunity to reward myself, so I'll go to a Cafe and buy a coffee. I happen to love coffee! (Maybe too much).

Some mornings the panick and feeling of alarm don't go away (and no: it's not the caffeine's fault! 😉). Sometimes the squirming nerves do subside. Atleast for a little while. But even so, I've noticed most occasions are better for having gotten myself out of the house in the first place. Not always though...

Anyhow: welcome to the forums.

Re: Growth

Hi there @Aggie and welcome to the forums 👋. I’m so proud of what you achieved with your anxiety and panic attack as you handled it really well which is a massive achievement so well done⭐️!

As a person who has anxiety issues at times, I’ve learnt that the condition is like a wave at the beach whereby it will seem likely it’s constantly building up and will never end but eventually it reaches a peak and soon subsides into nothing and eventually life goes on. I had the experience of learning this from a drug and alcohol counsellor in relation to dealing with urges and cravings despite not having a drug and alcohol problem and it has really helped me with my mental health issues. I learnt this skill whilst at a mental health recovery centre in June last year and I’m so glad I did as it’s come in handy for me on so many occasions.

Enjoy your book and your wonderful achievement!

Re: Growth

An astrology book. A beginners one. It's old, with yellow- browned edges, and I like books like that! 🙂

I want to learn about Venus in 1st house, and Moon in 7th... And 12th house stuff, coz I have stuff there...

Do you know anything about astrology, @Aggie ?
