My rambling page

My rambling page

Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.

Terry Pratchett, Reaper Man (Discworld, #11; Death, #2

)

I got back to sleep this morning and kept waking up but couldn't move couldn't even open my eyes and then realized I was still asleep and woke up and was still frozen. It happened a few times. I am not actually sure if the last time I woke I was actually sleeping or awake but I was locked inside my own body again but slowly forced my eyelids open and I was awake.

Re: My rambling page

It was great we hadn't seen each other for ages, she can't get into my house, access issues, and I haven't been able to leave the house by myself for so long. We had a good chat had pizza and watched a movie. We had a good hug, and talk which was the most important thing. We have both been going through so much recently. Honestly, she's the only person these days I feel totally safe with. I trust her more than anyone. There have been times when it was only her view of me that held me back from suicide. A lifeboat in the ocean of pain. Not that she can't be a pain in the arse sometimes LOL. Her stubbornness is partly why I admire her. Resilience in extremes. Something to aspire to.

Re: My rambling page

The shitty thing is that all of these people telling me I'm a chicken think they are heroes doing the right thing. Or people following others who with influence. Or just not thinking or listening.

And then Jack chopped down what was the world's last beanstalk, adding murder and ecological terrorism to the theft, enticement, and trespass charges already mentioned, and all the giant's children didn't have a daddy anymore. But he got away with it and lived happily ever after, without so much as a guilty twinge about what he had done...which proves that you can be excused for just about anything if you are a hero, because no one asks inconvenient questions.

Re: My rambling page

Mmm... It really raises the question of 'conscience', don't you think?

That perhaps innocence is a mere lack of conscience. There's a song about this, called "Drifters Escape"... @Gillie1

How else can the archetypal hero possibly emerge if said hero were too timid to break the husk of external expectations?

Re: My rambling page

Sometimes when the righteous hero has it wrong their hero ing is just destruction and heartache. The thing is the more you object and say stop the more your point out the harm they are doing the more they are determined to prove that the harm done is justified.

The more harm they do. I need to stop focusing on them. I'm sure they will continue on some level indefinitely. I need to focus on me and trying to make a life worth living. Trying to be me and express me through the trauma as best I can. The last few days has been another set back but I'll get updated against.

Re: My rambling page

From a psychoanalytic view, the hero is you, @Gillie1 ...

Re: My rambling page

How? Are you saying I'm Jack?

Re: My rambling page

@Kyle1 I am getting tired and somewhat paranoid. If you have time for a more detailed response I'd like to absorb it but think I should sleep and read it in the morning.

Re: My rambling page

How? That's what the hero's journey is all about...

Hercules. Odysseus. King Arthur

Whomever... All are archetypes, or primordial aspects of the essential Self. These archetypes, or facettes of Self, are also reprepresented by Athena. The Crone. Witch. Snow White. Holy Mother. The Beast. The Beauty. The wicked step mother. The Prince. The judge. The jury. (Like in that drifter escape song). All parts of our own self. Saint and sinner - within. All of that ...

It's like that quote: "I am a crowd. I contain multitudes". So, according to a psychoanalytic perspective, not only would you be Jack, but giant and goose, too! Depending on what stage of self growth you were at...

The ancient alchemist dealt with this stuff when they applied themselves to the lifelong pursuit of crafting lead into gold. It's more of that metaphorical stuff where myth is not fiction, but truth in fancy dress.
