Malens Babble

Malens Babble

I think Im starting to get a handle on the forum a bit more and figure that I could start my own thread for my babble rather than filling up the feed and others posts not get their appropriate time on the notice board.

Ill still post some stuff normal but most Ill post here.

@Dimity

There should be only the one thread for me, Im up to 23 pages I think. Do you have a linkfor the two, I have no idea how to find both. Ill talk to @tyme and see if they can be combined.

The boils suck, Ive gone in for one to be lanced but was too early, it was palm sized. They will look at lancing but prefer to allow to explode on their own, which is gross

Re: Medication

Hi @ClockFace,

It can't be easy when your mum is pressuring you for your medication but you are doing the right thing I think. It sounds like pretty serious pain medication so I think it's important your mum's GP oversees how much she is taking. It's a bit concerning that she maybe taking so much that she fell out of bed - that could cause a new set of problems like breaking a bone.

I also agree - with what you are going through you need the medication for yourself. You don't want to run short and then you need to go to the GP to get another script. The GP might then question why you have run out and may become concerned you are overmedicating.

I hope you don't feel bad about not giving your mum your medication because you shouldn't. If you mum needs more pain relief that is a discussion she needs to have with her GP I would imagine - not a discussion she should have with you.

Warm wishes,

FloatingFeather

Smoking inside

I wont tag people in as Ive posted a lot.

Before my sister came home from Hospital my Dad sent me back outside if I wanted to smoke. My sister came home and she started to smoke inside. I continued to go outside, though I thought if I had to go outside so should she.

Anyhow a day or 2 ago the pain became more intense and I started to have difficulty getting up and down the steps, for a couple days given my sister smoked inside I decided I would too.

Dad just came spitting venom about me smoking inside and if its so painful then I should stop. Then slammed the door and left.

If I could just stop I would do it in a heart beat, the more pain Im in the more I smoke, thoughthe more pain the more I type at the moment. The more my MH suffers the same.

My Dad wouldnt speak to my sister the way he just spoke to me. he wouldnt treat her the same way. She has just got home from a suicide attempt so I get kid gloves, but Im not in the best mind set or dealing with my physical issues well. I think I just got told that I have worn out his tolerance for my MH/GH issues, its time for me to just get over it and move on, regardless that I am still in the investigatoty stage for both and I have a long road ahead.

My sister can have all the time she needs to deal with her issues but me, I will fight. I will fight with doctors etc to get the right diagnosis and treatment. I will fight with him to take the time off I need for appointments, procedures, etcI thought I might get a bit more of a break from the fight with my Dad, hes made a couple shots with when you going back to work, but today was clear anger and more than just smoking.

EDIT

I think Im just an easy target for Dad. He grumps and gets his way with me. Im somewhat scared of him he has a side to him that is vicious. I cant remember him hitting me as a kid but Mum threatened us with him. I dont know what it is but there is something about him that given the opportunity gloves off he would wail on me. I think he has a lot of resentment and built up anger towards me. I know he is disappointed as to how I turned out. He is very much a work through pretty much anything, he hardly used a day of sick leave until he got diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

I however have been plauged by illnesses, disabilities and MH issues most my life. Stuff you cant just work through, pain that you cant just ignore and MH Illnesses that dont just stop because your at work. I cant just push through this stuff and both Mum and Dad think I should, that I am weak and lazy

My family have told me that I am not allowed to go for disabilty support pension, I must keep working. I wouldnt want to go on DSP I wouldnt afford life but my sister is on it and one person on it is enough.

My sister before she sold her house would regularly borrow money from my Dad and there would be fights over it. She sold her house and was left with a tidy sum which she has helped me and family. But my parents do help her quite a bit. She is seen as having a very hard life, nothing has gone in her favour and I would agree she has had it really hard, really really hard, shes gone through stuff most no one ever will.

It would be nice though if they would see that my life hasnt been easy either, that many things not of my choice and completely out of my control have happened and its cost me and them (short term as I always had to pay it back) The things we have both been through is more than most would ever experience but ones experience is not better or worse than the other, but they judge hers as worse than mine and a lot of mine as due to my own doing where hers were forced upon her.

I dunno, maybe Im wrong but I dont think its at all fair. In my Mums eyes im going to be the defiant child, in Dads eyes I am a dissapointment. My sister well for the most part she can do no wrong and any wrong she does is covered by the evil done to her.

Hi @ClockFace

Just to let you know that I am still reading through your thread. It’s quite heavy reading so it’s taking me some time.

I am interested in your story though.

Are you on the calorie controlled Lite n Easy or just the standard? I am doing jump start standard to start. I am hoping to lose some weight. I have to make other healthy changes. Walking and drinking water.

@Oaktree

Yeah theres a fair bit in my posts they are heavy. Im doing one today and its a lot, a lot a lot.

Im just doing the dinner meals. I didnt like the lunches so I cut them out. Its at least 1 decent meal a day and I dont have to wonder if Dad is going to cook or when or what. Meal planning etc is not good here. 1/2 the time we were left to what ever for ourselfs. I cant stand long so cooking is an issue. So ended up eating crap.

I need to reduce/eliminate the iced coffee in my life. I tend not to eat huge food wise but drink lots

@ClockFace

I hear what you are saying regarding iced coffee. I love it too. I call it leaping milk because it just leaps by itself into the trolley. My other vice is Pepsi Max, it’s not good for my body. It makes my body crave other things. I need to just drink water but I don’t like it. My hubby was cooking for me but he is having trouble standing these days with his arthritis. He is on the waitlist for surgery. Hopefully that will happen before August and then it’s a 12 month recovery but he will be pretty good after 3 months.

Im not a fan of water either but I found Nu water. Its cheap in comparrison to other water. I think its like $9 for 24 600ml bottles from Wollies. As far as water goes its my fav but I cant pick up a case of them. I wish they came in a 6pack or something

A few woolies sell them out the fridge not all though. I found it at hospital, was the water they had and went in a few times and they had it there each time so got to try a few times and was hooked need to get back into it
