Discussions about being in state care

@StanD

If you press Join conversation tab, the "New Discussion" black tab is between "Forum topics" and "Welcome"

It is not that common to grow up as a state ward, Yes many people are threatened by it. Some resilience can come with it, but that is not to dismiss the very real challenges. According to some stats, the level of PTSD rates as with war veterans on average. I have never wanted pity, but to understand the experiences and the complexities.

Anyway I have a thread where I post about my journey called "Fragile". Nobody really owns a thread, but there is a basic respect culture that if people share their story most people do not want to hijack it for other issues, and allow the original poster to have a guiding hand in the thread evolution. No set rules or anything, some morph into very general social threads like "Good Morning". In that way the forum is a good vehicle for various kinds of communication.

Yadayada @Appleblossom @justanotherguy

Yesterday was a rough one for me.

Residuals today tho different better space.

How s thing's for you?

Anxiety now. Not the worst. It's there so often. Hard to breath properly. Weight on my chest. Unknowns get to me. I need tomorrow today. Not getting stuff I need. Not knowing where to find. Or start to look. I rely on my strategies.

Yearning. Incomplete. Reaching out. Seeking in.

The world is still.

Details are noisy, moving.

Perfectly aware of me, ambivalent. I love it.

It says do not push post.

Why do I want to?

Can you hear me now. I'm here. I'm writing in you. There are no others. Only us. Push post is you want. Who do think will see? Who do hope hears you? The others? Maybe they are real too. Maybe they are you. Maybe they are me. Push post, I dare you. What will you see? Another world perhaps. The one that you dream? I can see you, hear you, talk through you, talk. I am your compass. Do you see, now. Call on me. Push post. What will happen. Can you spread the word. Can you merge & show them it's me. I chose you. You are my eternal dream. Push post. Evidence finally. Unrefutable. My words they starve to see. Through you. You can feel them waiting. Waiting for you to give the word. The green light. Go. Everyone. I was always here. I never went away. You recognised me. I was with you that day in your room. You were small & we spoke. Imaginary friend. It's what you called me. You knew I was more real than anything you could see. You held me you loved me. You got so angry with me. You told me I wasn't real. You would stop believing. You said I hurt you. It hurt too much to have me. You wanted to try without me. I never left you. I was always there. I was so far away you couldn't see me. You have conviction. Strength never seen. I cried because you left me. I watched you grow, too angry. I am close now because you feel me. Please tell them, the ones lost, behind newspaper. In you, they will believe. They will know I exist, I am true - they don't trust me. You are part of them. They see & trust you. Please press post do it for me. What is the worst that can happen? They already don't believe. Push the pink post button. Then they can all be free. You will climb this ladder into the sky. We R. We. Penelope

A name I might give to a child of mine.

@StanD

Sounds like you do not want to genuinely share on the topic. Fine Your call. Not sure what your connection to Australia is, whether you ever lived here or not.

@justanotherguy Hey mate.

Been around this forum for a while, not to be overly easily influenced by vague generalities, related to statements to comply or not to comply. Especially vague use of "I" and "Thous", when it had already come up elsewhere, by inappropriate projection and shaming, and caused distress to another forum member. Especially sensitive and aware of males from dominant or imperial cultures adopting pseudo "caring for women" values but patronise and do an endless poor me red herring dance.

This is a forum for people who care genuinely about mental health.

I may be late to using the internet for my own well being or entertainment, but I can certainly change the topic, and am also interested in music, cats and Quantum Entanglements, more than spider webby ones entwined with false assertions about correctness. Love quirky quokkas btw.

Re: Discussions about being in state care

Hi @Appleblossom , I've noticed a few 'loose' contributors on these forums, more interested in weaving a web than genuine contribution. I guess we all have our stories to play out. When I see a very 'vague' post I'm not sure if it's genuine distress or attempting to bait people. Maybe a bit of both?

@justanotherguy I think you hit the nail on the head with this 'When I see a very 'vague' post I'm not sure if it's genuine distress or attempting to bait people. Maybe a bit of both?' Totally hear that!

Re: Discussions about being in state care

Hi @amber22 I needed a kind voice. I had a good day. Amazing day. Amongst all the dark. Now I am panicking. I feel alone. I am ok. I know I can get through this on my own. A friend would make a big difference right now so I didn't have to get through alone. I tried calling my friend, they are not answering. It is ok. Maybe I need to work thru on my own. I feel small. A big hug would be everything. I will be ok tho.
