I decided to start a new thread, my new chapter in my life is going to focus on healing my traumas, building resilience and self-worth and taking the steps of achieving mood stability. I am praying this year will be better than the last. Last year the SI got really intense, was so close to losing hope and I felt like my heart was breaking into a million pieces like shattered glass. It all still feels overwhelming, I have a long way to go on my healing journey, but I think I'm starting to feel a bit more hopeful about the future.

@Kyle1, glade you were able to get out and enjoy the sunshine. Apple sorbet sounds nice
I’m just resting up. I don’t even feel like eating a snack, it’s been a while since I last ate, feeling way too tired, weak and miserable

How do I hold on? Depression feels awful, trauma memories won’t leave, I am useless. I’m sorry I’m a failure

Oh, dear...
In this place where you are @creative_writer I understand how hopeless it can feel. Despondency is deep and the waY ahead can be impossible to fathom.
I don't mean to sound "preachy" but I just want to share with you: I have found great value in getting out of my own way... to get "distracted"... to do something "other"... to be of service to someone, or something "other"... and to NOT think about it.
I pray you find some respite, dear friend 🫂💚🙏

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together
@Kyle1, volunteer work will need to wait, uni has been very hectic lately, have two assignment due Monday week. I have placements scheduled at the end of May too, and haven’t heard back yet. It’s easier to remain distracted when you are 1) psychologically doing better, 2) feeling better physically, I’m in chronic pain 😰. My mind and body have been a mess, I’m finding it hard to see hope
🫂💖

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together
yes, it does sound very hard and heavy for you lately... @creative_writer
I am finding a treasure trove of tasty morsels in song... Are you able to listen to soothing music?..
Or perfume? If it isn't aggravating your migraines, are you able to engross yourself in the experience of perfume? What are the bass notes?...The high notes?.. The mids?.. Can you describe them?...

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together
@Kyle1, I am literally wearing amber glasses right now, my eyes are so sensitive. I also need the amber glasses for improving sleep. I could try listening to something soothing. Perfumes are okay, as long as they are not too strong and unpleasant. I am wearing musky floral right now

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together
that sounds delightful @creative_writer
Musky floral.
I wonder what beautiful complexities might be recognised in that?

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together
@Kyle1, I mixed scents to create my own lol. It has become complex, I mixed rose with musky floral perfume.

Aw yeah? Nice. @creative_writer
Someone gave me a gift of Rose oil this week. It's so precious! 😊

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together
@Kyle1, I love rose too. I use a rose body balm to hydrate my body. I used to use a rose scented face oil before it was discontinued. It’s annoying when you like a product and it’s gone
