Piecing the shattered glass together

Piecing the shattered glass together

I decided to start a new thread, my new chapter in my life is going to focus on healing my traumas, building resilience and self-worth and taking the steps of achieving mood stability. I am praying this year will be better than the last. Last year the SI got really intense, was so close to losing hope and I felt like my heart was breaking into a million pieces like shattered glass. It all still feels overwhelming, I have a long way to go on my healing journey, but I think I'm starting to feel a bit more hopeful about the future.

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

Your 'stupid' reactions are a way of protecting yourself. A way to remind yourself not to be hurt again. Challenges arise when we react that way when it is not needed. However, how is your body to know that if you haven't trained it to recognise it? Hence, I think that's why CBT and other therapies may be helpful. In these, you may not even need to share anything about trauma, but it's about looking at your ways of thinking and how to find more effective ways. @creative_writer

And the fact that you are still thinking of those help seekers truly show what a soft heart you have. You are highly compassionate, and that's why you are driven to study the field you are in now. Healing takes time. Give yourself the time.

Marriage will come - in its time. Allow yourself to heal first. And focus on this as your priority. I recognise there are cultural pressures, and this will be something for you to consider.

You are doing well, believe it or not. Your reactions and actions are not 'stupid' or 'abnormal'.

Sitting with you.

I'll be around during this weekend if you need anything. I'm hopping off now, but I'll see you around.

Take care,

tyme

What hope is there for me? I did achieve remission years ago after a med was added, but I slowly destabilised and destabilised a lot last year 😭

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

Does anyone have experience with achieving full remission to only have it torn apart later? Can stability be longer lasting? Is there any hope for me? I'm tired of suffering 😞

Reached out to SCBS, still feel like I'm drowning. Maybe I should be quiet now. I'm sorry if I have let anyone down.......I'll be okay......

I wish SANE was available on the weekend......I feel like I've been contacting helplines less, despite feeling more shit lately. I need to be less needy and more independent. Maybe one day I will not need people and cope with my shit myself. Maybe I am afraid of judgement, being misunderstood and engulfment but I can't rely on people, period

Sounds tough today....

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

@tyme, I don't feel okay to talk to anyone right now, I know this might be to my own detriment. It's just easier to suffer alone and listen to SI music than to ask for help. Can't be bothered to contact a helpline, because what if it doesn't help? I can't talk to parents, they get too involved. I can't talk to friends because I don't want to be that needy and clingy person, my parents' clinginess irritates me enough, though I do still love them. I also don't want judgements right now from anyone either

Makes sense @creative_writer . I can be too hard to talk, especially for those who prefer written text.

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

@tyme, I tried reaching out to SCBS over text form today, and it was okay but still feel suffocated. I guess I'm just cranky today, I don't know what to do, depression won't go away, I need peace 😞 , and I'm also annoyed I couldn't stay in the long bout of stable mood I experienced years ago. I know my brain can be stable, it just refuses and I have no idea how to become stable again

I can’t find a trigger for worsening depression 😭. I don’t understand and it’s frustrating me
