Piecing the shattered glass together

Piecing the shattered glass together

I decided to start a new thread, my new chapter in my life is going to focus on healing my traumas, building resilience and self-worth and taking the steps of achieving mood stability. I am praying this year will be better than the last. Last year the SI got really intense, was so close to losing hope and I felt like my heart was breaking into a million pieces like shattered glass. It all still feels overwhelming, I have a long way to go on my healing journey, but I think I'm starting to feel a bit more hopeful about the future.

@tyme, I can’t seem to make self-talk or affirmations work. So instead, I speak to my imaginary friend who builds me up. So I suppose it’s self-talk in a way?

@tyme, I just hope I can get through this rough patch. Still trying to resist SI and SH. I feel trapped right now 😞 . So many powerful emotions, and so many thoughts, and maybe my mind is racing a little bit too much. I was even on the edge of taking my life the day before yesterday but managed to get through safely. I haven't SH for a while, but how long can I go on for? I know I have the option of an emergency session if required, but I'll see how I feel tom. I just had my counsellor's appointment yesterday.

Well done on getting through yesterday despite it being so tough @creative_writer . I hope you find healing and restoration as you work with what is happening for you.

There IS light ahead. Just keep going!

@tyme, I know I need to start thinking of uni semester to come. I know part of the uni experience is to socialise, will need to relearn how to do that, I've sort of become more reserved and guarded. I know I'm not going to get anywhere sitting in front of the walls in my bedroom. Probably spend too much time alone. Though, I'm so sad that I can't volunteer as a crisis supporter right now. It gave me purpose. I guess I'll have to find something else that is better for my MH right now.

Perhaps these forums will help with that @creative_writer . It did for me because I had the added protection of anonymity.

So for me, I began reaching out to support others on the forums (which you do already). You may find that very rewarding also.

I was a volunteer on the forums before working at SANE.

@tyme, I guess it's one step at a time. I can always go back to the volunteer work later but might need to touch base with the team leader often to ensure I am doing okay emotionally, I don't want a repeat of last year. The forums do help a lot. I'll say goodnight to you since it's just after 10 pm. I hope you have a restful night 🙂

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

hi creative writer

i am new here. nice to meet you.

I am a graphic designer, art director and illustrator and have worked professionally for over 25 years.

My issues got too much and i dropped out of the workfore a few years ago.

I miss it. I went to award school and have trained with the top ctreatives in this country, about how to produce creative contect and with copywriting produce ad campains etc.

Due to your avatar i thought this may be of interest to you. I enjoy copywriting and find it the crucial part of any advertising, as language is how information is transferred... more so than any image.

I hope you are having a good day. I was very bad a few days ago but i am ok today.

Bit hot outside but i look out my window at 2 very large pine trees and it makes my creative mind go swimming for a while :0)

Really struggling to shake this shame off. So I haven’t done anything wrong, but I feel like I have because I didn’t protect myself from trauma. It’s like I should’ve saved myself for the right person but couldn’t. It makes me feel sinful and gross. It makes me want to SH and is giving me SI urges. I’m trying to resist, it’s hard 😢. I spoke to SANE earlier, which helped a bit. Still a struggle.
