Piecing the shattered glass together

Piecing the shattered glass together

I decided to start a new thread, my new chapter in my life is going to focus on healing my traumas, building resilience and self-worth and taking the steps of achieving mood stability. I am praying this year will be better than the last. Last year the SI got really intense, was so close to losing hope and I felt like my heart was breaking into a million pieces like shattered glass. It all still feels overwhelming, I have a long way to go on my healing journey, but I think I'm starting to feel a bit more hopeful about the future.

I hope your headache didn't bubble into a full blown migraine, @creative_writer 🫂🧡

@Kyle1, it went away and returned 😑. Time for daily meltdown too. I feel nauseous, but still need to eat dinner soon, or my mum won’t let me be since she knows I’ll only feel worse if I don’t eat anything.

I hope today was okay for you 💖🫂

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

Thank you, friend.

Today has been a rollercoaster for me...from weary, to levelled off fine, over to critical, then stampede into hateful for a moment, then outright sad, zoomed up to good vibe fun, and now 😳

I forgot my med last night and stayed awake for hours more than usual. Woke up short changed. Was late taking morning meds... I don't know if it's cause for roller coaster day today, but that's news.

Other than that, it's been another brilliant Autumn day here in the valley! I discovered another Mary Oliver poem which I am newly infatuated. I will try and share it with you, OK? @creative_writer

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

Starlings In Winter

Chunky and noisy,
but with stars in their black feathers,
they spring from the telephone wire
and instantly

they are acrobats
in the freezing wind.
And now, in the theater of air,
they swing over buildings,

dipping and rising;
they float like one stippled star
that opens,
becomes for a moment fragmented,

then closes again;
and you watch
and you try
but you simply can't imagine

how they do it
with no articulated instruction, no pause,
only the silent confirmation
that they are this notable thing,

this wheel of many parts, that can rise and spin
over and over again,
full of gorgeous life.

Ah, world, what lessons you prepare for us,
even in the leafless winter,
even in the ashy city.
I am thinking now
of grief, and of getting past it;

I feel my boots
trying to leave the ground,
I feel my heart
pumping hard. I want

to think again of dangerous and noble things.
I want to be light and frolicsome.
I want to be improbable beautiful and afraid of nothing,
as though I had wings.

@Kyle1, I’ve had experiences of forgetting a med dose, not the most pleasant experience. I hope things level out soon. Feel free to share 🙂

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

I've done that too @creative_writer , but my body tells me...

And, not to mention, I've taken nights in the morning and mornings in the night! That's bad....

I really shouldn't have an excuse because I have webster packs lol.

@tyme, I’ve gone as far as spitting meds out too, I was clearly over my head when I did. I didn’t want it to squish my high and felt good as though I didn’t need it anymore

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

With the webster packs, I don't have room for error because it means I don't have enough meds. The chemist is about an hour's drive away. I get my meds delivered to my house each fortnight. @creative_writer

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

@tyme, yeah that would be tricky.

Maybe I should put meds in Webster packs, it can get confusing at times.

I’ve come to accept that I need meds for now, but constantly feel pressure that I need to fix my mental health some other way, there is way too much pressure on women to get married and have kids

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

Getting married and having kids would just be added stress on top of everything right now @creative_writer . I guess culturally there is a lot of pressure. However, I am finding less and less people are getting married and having kids nowadays in Australia.

People just live together and if kids 'happen', it happens..
