Piecing the shattered glass together

Piecing the shattered glass together

I decided to start a new thread, my new chapter in my life is going to focus on healing my traumas, building resilience and self-worth and taking the steps of achieving mood stability. I am praying this year will be better than the last. Last year the SI got really intense, was so close to losing hope and I felt like my heart was breaking into a million pieces like shattered glass. It all still feels overwhelming, I have a long way to go on my healing journey, but I think I'm starting to feel a bit more hopeful about the future.

@Kyle1, I am not really that social. I just do regular stuff like spend time with family, talk to friends, attend social functions. My social life is really suffering, probably should improve it, I just don’t have the motivation. I’m glade you enjoyed last night, do you crash often after social events? I know some people do.

Yeah, kind of. @creative_writer But it's not in an aspergers kind of way, where my nerves are frazzled. Its more a lonesome kind of crash

Imagine you're having a nice flight upthere in the blue and the white clouds of smiling mouths. Then next thing you know, you're plummeting in a free fall and the sky is pitch black....

It's a vulnerable and precarious way to be

@Kyle1, so like you’ve returned back to the sorrows of life?

I do crash, but I think it’s because I’m a HSP introvert, so I get overstimulated. I also get exhausted when I have to tuck the depressed version of me away for other people.

well, I am a major empath, and I think I have this thing called anxious attachment style... so basically, I'm a Labrador! @creative_writer

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

@Kyle1, being an empath is hard. I think I’m anxious avoidant in my attachment style, I struggle a lot with close relationships. If someone wants to get to know me on a superficial level, I all good, but once it gets too deep, I want to pull away. It sort of explains why I felt so awkward with my pdoc knowing too much about me during my first appointment, it felt too fast too soon. It took a while to build connections my other supports too. My psychologist knew I kept a lot to myself and appreciates that I am opening up more to her now.

yeah, I'm just discovering info on all this kind of profiling...

It's quite a different kettle of fish to the old fashioned earth, water, fire, and air types in astro-psychology.

Would you say it's legit? @creative_writer

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

@Kyle1, I believe psychology has a lot to offer, but I am extremely sceptical of astrology.

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

no, I was referring to attachment styles.. do you think they're legit? Or just an old typology repackaged as a fad for millenials? @creative_writer

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

@Kyle1, I think attachment theory is legit, though I do think there is a little too much emphasis on mothers. While child-mother relationships are important to consider, I think it’s also important to look at other relationships too.
