Piecing the shattered glass together

Piecing the shattered glass together

I decided to start a new thread, my new chapter in my life is going to focus on healing my traumas, building resilience and self-worth and taking the steps of achieving mood stability. I am praying this year will be better than the last. Last year the SI got really intense, was so close to losing hope and I felt like my heart was breaking into a million pieces like shattered glass. It all still feels overwhelming, I have a long way to go on my healing journey, but I think I'm starting to feel a bit more hopeful about the future.

I will try sleep now. I want to say thank you for chatting with me tonight, @creative_writer . We are trying to deal with some crappy elements in our emotional worlds but I have enjoyed getting to know you better, never the less.

I hope you enjoyed your dinner and sleep sweet and sound 🧡🙏

God bless.

@creative_writer Yeah, just really tired. I'm just not sleeping enough, it seems...

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

@Kyle1, sleep is important. Though for me I feel like I’m not getting good quality sleep, I sleep just fine.

So what's that @creative_writer - you fall asleep OK, but it's not restful sleep? Is that what you mean...

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

Yeah @Kyle1. I experience excessive sleepiness. Have you ever tried looking into sleep hygiene?

I swear for some reason I feel like I’m using seasonal changes as an excuse for worsening depression. I’m in Melbourne, not Europe. I should get up and get on with uni. I’ve done no studying since Friday.

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

@creative_writer yeah, I have heard of sleep hygiene and I think I employ a few of those strategies naturally...

One thing that may defy the complete protocol is my penchant for playing the Gospels as audio while I fall asleep. But it actually helps me fall asleep. Particularly as read by David Suchet.

Your user name is creative writer. Can I ask what you like to write ?

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

@Kyle1. Interesting, I like playing the audio of the Quran at night, and I listen to it when I wake up and don’t feel like getting out of bed.

Yeah, I like writing poetry and fiction. My latest pieces has been poetry, haven’t written fiction for a while.
