Piecing the shattered glass together

Piecing the shattered glass together

I decided to start a new thread, my new chapter in my life is going to focus on healing my traumas, building resilience and self-worth and taking the steps of achieving mood stability. I am praying this year will be better than the last. Last year the SI got really intense, was so close to losing hope and I felt like my heart was breaking into a million pieces like shattered glass. It all still feels overwhelming, I have a long way to go on my healing journey, but I think I'm starting to feel a bit more hopeful about the future.

Mmm... Can I ask, (and I understand if you don't want to go into it) but what do your family make of this? Are they aware of your issues and complexities? Are they supportive? Do you feel you have understanding or sensitive people around you?.. @creative_writer

@Kyle1, my parents know some of it, they are cautious about MH professionals, they are generally very reserved and didn’t want me to seek treatment initially because of stigma. I also get the impression they blame me being put on medication at 18 as the cause of my instability.

As you are well aware, MH medication can be largely experimental. A lot of trial and error sometimes...

But it is never a fault to seek help for yourself when things get beyond you...

@Kyle1, I know meds are trial and error. I think in their minds, the meds were the cause of mood swings. I‘ve had hypomanic and mixed episodes in the past.

Oh yes, i see...

Interesting: I raised a similar issue with my counsellor today: my suspicion that one of my meds could be exacerbating my depressive episodes...

Tricky stuff, isn't it? ....

My friend, I want to wish you a good and peaceful night. I sincerely hope you're feeling a little better. I know you were tired and suffering this evening, so I really want to thank you for spending time with me. And I want to send you a gift, ok?

God bless 🙏

 And a warm hello to @Birdofparadise8 🙂
