Piecing the shattered glass together

Piecing the shattered glass together

I decided to start a new thread, my new chapter in my life is going to focus on healing my traumas, building resilience and self-worth and taking the steps of achieving mood stability. I am praying this year will be better than the last. Last year the SI got really intense, was so close to losing hope and I felt like my heart was breaking into a million pieces like shattered glass. It all still feels overwhelming, I have a long way to go on my healing journey, but I think I'm starting to feel a bit more hopeful about the future.

Hi there @creative_writer .

I've had a migraine today. No nice at all.

I was thinking of you when I was doing some exercises in hope it would ease the pain.

Have you ever tried massages or acupuncture/acupressure to ease the migraine pain?

@tyme, I haven't tried acupuncture but have tried massage before which helps a bit. I hope your migraine is better, still feel a bit of heaviness, I probably need rest. It's been one crazy day.

Did you go out or something @creative_writer ? What makes you say it was a 'crazy day'?

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

@tyme, I spent much of this morning and afternoon reprimanding myself. I was cranky this morning and when I contacted a helpline, the person I got thought I was being too explicit. I've had pretty intense conversations before with SANE, but since it was a weekend I had to use another service. I thought I was doing okay because I've had previous conversations about stuff. I have no idea if I was actually being too explicit or if there was miscommunication over the chat. I've interpreted as the former, so I went on a loop of self-loathing because I made someone else uncomfortable.

I hope your day was okay.

In a way, it was good that the person on the line had those boundaries, but that doesn't mean you have to get yourself into a loop of blame because someone else was uncomfortable. It obviously wasn't intentional even it it were the case, right? @creative_writer

It's happened, and you cannot wind back the clock. People who answer the phone are all different. What may be 'too explicit' for one may not be too explicit for another. Maybe next time, you can put that disclaimer out and say "If I'm being too explicit, please let me know".

I hope this does not prevent or hinder you from reaching out in the future.

As for this migraine of mine, it's this lingering pain that goes down the left side. It'll be okay. I had a really restful day today, and I'm going to continue like that tomorrow too.

Do you have anything planned for tomorrow?

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

@tyme, it's true it varies from person to person. It's just hard not to get triggered, if I sense discomfort, I feel like nobody has the capacity to emotionally support me. It kind of put me off being told it wasn't "appropriate" to talk about it, so I apologised and left. She just ensured I was safe before leaving, she seemed more focused on my safety than talking.

I hope you feel better soon too, rest up. I have an evening class, otherwise lots to catch up with uni. How about you?

Yeah, sounds like a fine line @creative_writer . Can be tricky.

As for tomorrow, sounds like you still have uni.

I'm having a quiet day tomorrow. I'm going to sleep in.

@tyme, though I think I’m going to be extra cautious with how I word things now.

Yeah, I have assignment due in 9 days, and have lots to do. I also have prep work for tom’s tute. I hope you have a restful day, I know sleep is important for migraines.

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

There’s not a single person that I can say I feel fully comfortable with. I suppose it’s my fault for feeling like nobody loves me for my authentic self. I don’t know if they would still love me if I was myself.

Re: Piecing the shattered glass together

Feeling so utterly worthless and unwanted. At least I have an online class soon, being upstairs alone in my thoughts is not good for me.
