Piecing the shattered glass together

Piecing the shattered glass together

I decided to start a new thread, my new chapter in my life is going to focus on healing my traumas, building resilience and self-worth and taking the steps of achieving mood stability. I am praying this year will be better than the last. Last year the SI got really intense, was so close to losing hope and I felt like my heart was breaking into a million pieces like shattered glass. It all still feels overwhelming, I have a long way to go on my healing journey, but I think I'm starting to feel a bit more hopeful about the future.

Hi @tyme. My head is feeling heavy again, it’s not full blown yet, but I fear it’s getting there😫. I wonder if I got too much light this afternoon through my window. Or maybe it’s the heat. I don’t know. Or maybe I’m stressed. Or maybe it’s a combination. I’m trying to sort things for uni tom. It’s so hot tom too.

I feel hot and bothered @creative_writer . I want to go downstairs because it's cooler, but I want to do my work upstairs.

My TWO aircons need maintenance. I contacted someone a few weeks ago, but because they were so rude, I didn't go ahead with the service. I just contacted another person and am waiting to hear from them.

I don't mind Melb heat so much if I'm outdoors. I tend to like the dry heat.

@tyme, we have one functional air con in my parents room, and I don’t feel like being in my parents room all the time, and my mum is having a class right now anyways. I hope you hear back from the second person.

I can’t tolerate the heat in Melbourne, even if I am outdoors. Heat and too much sun both bring in migraines. Then I get cranky and go on the rumination loop. I accidentally injured myself today, and I feel like SH on the site to make it worse. Not one will question me because I had an accident, and I’m going to scar anyways. I know I really shouldn’t, so trying not to.

As I've said in the past, you seem to have a lot of physical pain which I can't relate to. @creative_writer

Migraines are so horrible. I can't remember if I've asked, but does acupuncture work for migraines?

@tyme, I’ve heard it can. I haven’t tried it though. Though, it hasn’t become full blown yet. Maybe treating the ear infection is helping. I just feel cranky. Flashbacks can make one cranky.

Arghh.. I haven't read you have an ear infection! @creative_writer Sorry to hear that. Ouch! Middle or inner ear?

As for feeling cranky, I feel a bit better now because my sister's kids have left me alone. They were over my place and I was getting really annoyed with them. I was hot and bothered. Now I have all my windows and doors open so the breeze is coming through. I feel better now.

Oh, and I'm drinking chilled water. I really like water straight from the fridge. I'm going to freeze some water for tomorrow.

@tyme, I don’t know. The one people often get from swimming, even though I haven’t been swimming for a while.

Glade you’re feeling better.

I’m going to eat a quick snack.

My mind is a mess right now 😫

I feel shattered, how am I going to glue all the pieces together 😫?

heya @creative_writer ❤️ Like the name of your thread, even if something is broken, it can be put back together ❤️ Maybe even better than new?

Seems like maybe you're feeling frustrated with not knowing how to be pieced back together yet. Is that right?

Here are a few interesting reads:

I'm not sure if you know of the Japanese Repair method called Kintsugi, but it uses gold to repair broken ceramics. They look even more beautiful when it's finished ❤️ https://itsyonobi.com/blogs/news/kintsugi-the-beauty-of-imperfections

Or if you've heard of the concept of "Post-traumatic growth"? It comes after a while and "stabilising" after some trauma, but it's a beautiful concept.
