Setting Boundaries

As carers we often hear and talk about the need to establish boundaries in our relationships. Boundaries can help keep relationships healthy. In fact, they are vital in relationships as they can help us feel empowered, respected and safe.

But how exactly do we maintain boundaries? How do we know what an appropriate boundary is? And more importantly, what can and what should we do when our boundaries have been crossed?

Join us Tuesday, November 22nd from 7 - 9 (AEDT) for some practical strategies and advice on setting boundaries. We'll be joined by Mental Illness Fellowship South Australia (MIFSA).

Two things you can do now

@MIFSAsupport how do you know when you've taken on too much? What are the signs to look out for?

in my experience @Shaz51 Setting boundaries with a person we care for can be really tough because there can be risks involved. A big risk is our relationship with our love one.

Hello @MIFSAsupport

yes it may start ok but things happen and you end up where you were before , sometime without really noticing it until you start feeling exhausted

@MIFSAsupport can you tell us about what carers can do to care differently in terms of boundaries?
