Not Coping

Not Coping

Hey everyone how are you all?

@RiverSeal @Shaz51 @NatureLover @tyme @Former-Member @Eve7 @Former-Member @amber22 @Jynx @FloatingFeather

I'm not doing great at all today. I'm feeling down. I also keep beating myself up for everything and feel like I'm just failing. I need a break from everything. It's getting so hard that I don't know how to keep going anymore especially since I can't talk to anyone around me as they are leaving me or don't understand.

Hope you don’t mind me reaching out I just really need a chat and though I could come on here and vent and talk for a bit.

Thank you

Re: Tw Not Coping

What drives me to wake up each morning that my 'job' allows me to:

- see the strengths in people

- give people hope and courage

- show people there IS life to be lived

- help people

- support families

- advocate - being a voice for those who are not able to advocate for themselves

- keep learning

- experience new things everyday

- go to sleep each night knowing I've made a difference

- challenge myself

- work outside my comfort zone knowing it's a safe working environment

- keep a job and pay the bills

There's soooo much in it @creative_writer . You will find it so once you begin 🙂

Re: Tw Not Coping

Yeah four hours long, and we will do different things throughout the class.

This is the name of the lab. THE VOLUMETRIC MICROPIPETTE
AND INTRODUCTION TO SPECTROPHOTOMETRY.

We will be doing pipette calibration, protein analysis and purification and a few other things I am still getting my head around. @tyme @creative_writer

Re: Tw Not Coping

Oh yes by the way, it is good. Just getting my head around it all @tyme.

That is a long list of things. I wish I could wake up and feel like that. I just wake up and thing oh, got to do this all again.

Wow - that's totally over my head @Birdofparadise8 ! You'll be a genius coming out of it 🙂

BTW, what is YOU on Netflix?

Re: Tw Not Coping

I feel like it is over my head as well, lol @tyme

It is a psychological thriller. You should have a look at it. It keeps you on your toes that's for sure.

Re: Tw Not Coping

I don't want to give much away, but I'll say some things @tyme.

So there is this man, and he has a thing for women and helping them, but because of his issues from when he was a child, and they hurt him or abandoned him, he hurts them or people they care about back.

Re: Tw Not Coping

@tyme, Your job sounds amazing and inspirational. I really do hope I find it. It would be nice to think that something good comes out of all the hard work and lived experience. I do find myself swinging on two sides of the pendulum often. One that says I can’t do it, I’m too vulnerable, easily replaceable and might as well give up. The other side that says, that I’ll never know until I’ll try and I may make a difference to other people’s lives.

@Birdofparadise8, I wish you the best for your prac tom.

Re: Tw Not Coping

That's triggering @Birdofparadise8 - you're strong to be able to watch that 🙂 Good on you. Hope tomorrow's prac isn't too tedious... and hard.

@creative_writer - it's not a pendulum you need to worry about. Peer work is interrelated with social work in many ways. Only that the social work 'body' for registration is the difference. And with social work and peer work, there needs to be a measure of recovery for you to be able to manage. Even if you do the studies now, and not work until later, that's also okay. Much of the learning is on-the-job.

You can do it. If your heart is guiding you that way, then reach for it.

Re: Tw Not Coping

I'm a wuss. I'm so sick and looked at the timetable, and there is a prac each week, but we only need to go fortnightly, so I changed mine around so I can do it next week instead. I know day three is the worst when I get sick, so at least I can recover tomorrow as well now. I was really worried I was going to miss the prac, but I feel better now knowing I can change the weeks around @creative_writer @tyme
