I am unsure if you have experienced this or if I am just being melodramatic.
So I went, and I sat down, and just from the moment I did that, things seemed off and I wasn't really sure. We were in the session, and she just kept saying MMMM the whole time and didn't really talk. She seemed very patronising, which really put me off. I just felt like she didn't really care. Anyway, I asked her about how she handles suicidal thoughts and self-harm as the psych at the uni that I had like two sessions with over here said I am too high risk. So obviously, I wanted to see if I was going to be too high risk for her and that she doesn't mind dealing with that. You know what her response was, "I think we can work on that over time" and I was just like, so you're not even going to fully answer my question, like come on.
Next, I asked about session times, and she said well, you're here now, so this appointment is that time you will see me every week. Firstly I didn't know that because, in a couple of weeks, I will be starting work so I won't be able to move things around. You know what she said next she asked if I could change my work shift to fit her into my schedule. Seriously I have uni three days a week and work I was just trying to make her fit into that.
Also, that scale for distress from 0 to 10, she said we could work it out together because I told her how, like KHL, other psychs and my aunt use it, so I thought she would as well. Overall I didn't like the session and didn't think she answered my questions.
Anyway, overall, I was pretty angry and annoyed after the session.
Then I text the admin person as the medicare thing wasn't working and asked if I would be able to see someone else as I didn't think we had the right fit. Then they both text me back and said it is best to bring this up in our next session, and we can talk about it more then.
Well, there definitely won't be another session, and I won't be able to go anyway with my work and uni.
Gosh, even just writing this now kind of makes me a bit angry.
Well, that was a bit sorry about that @tyme
Also, I think I compared her to the provisional psych I had at the uni, and he was so good. I just wish I could see him again. So I think now I need to look for a male psych. Why can't anything be simple for once?
