Not Coping

Not Coping

Hey everyone how are you all?

@RiverSeal @Shaz51 @NatureLover @tyme @Former-Member @Eve7 @Former-Member @amber22 @Jynx @FloatingFeather

I'm not doing great at all today. I'm feeling down. I also keep beating myself up for everything and feel like I'm just failing. I need a break from everything. It's getting so hard that I don't know how to keep going anymore especially since I can't talk to anyone around me as they are leaving me or don't understand.

Hope you don’t mind me reaching out I just really need a chat and though I could come on here and vent and talk for a bit.

Thank you

Re: Tw Not Coping

I spoke to someone a few weeks ago, and they live in Tas. They said that the whole of Tas is considered 'regional'. @Birdofparadise8 - I'm not sure. That's my I'm fact-checking.

@Birdofparadise8 @creative_writer @Shaz51 @Captain24 ,

Yes, learning to accept help is important. This takes time. Think about how much energy, time and hours has gone into telling yourself you are NOT worthy of support? The brain is then 'trained' to think this way.

I am a firm believer in the neuroplasticity of the brain (that is, the brain is like a muscle and is constantly changing). If only we could learn re-frame things, it may train the brain to think differently. In a way, i think this is what I have done to my brain, and that's why it's hard to pull me down now - I've inadvertently 'changed my brain' to frame things differently.

I'll give an example in the next post.

@Birdofparadise8 , @tyme , @creative_writer

Mr shaz was brought up in a very negative environment and being with me he can see how bad his family are

I am glad I have rubbed off some of me in his children , my 4 step children

Re: Tw Not Coping

@tyme, if I was going to look at my identity from a academic point of view, I wouldn’t be defining myself by my illnesses and trauma. I’ve done some self reflection during my course. But it’s hard to remember all those things when I am down. Though, I am sure I have the files saved somewhere.

@Birdofparadise8, that’s true. But my mum isn’t super happy about how my psych responded to by SI. I got a lot more support afterwards (maybe more support than she thought I needed), but almost got a welfare check too (which got cancelled after speaking to CAT team). She doesn’t trust mental health professionals. I doubt she would be happy with me being on SANE. She’ll probably think I’m too naive. And maybe she feels a bit jealous of my psych since I share stuff with her. I just can’t talk to my mum not because of trust but as a means of protection, I don’t want to upset or trigger her or get triggered. She is loving but I don’t want her passive aggressive angry switch turned on.

Re: Tw Not Coping

So you’ve been able to change your brain to how you feel about things is that correct @tyme.

I have probably spent a lot of time not wanting help or not feeling I deserve it. That also could be as well from the teachers at school how they didn’t listen to me and didn’t help so I just though that if I want to get help I’m not going to get it anyway so what’s to point in trying.

I would say that changed a bit over the last 3ish months with joining the forums and other services more.

My step daughter is pregnant with her first baby @tyme

Well she came to us in tears because Mr shaz's family told her all the things that can go wrong

The poor darling, she has not visited them again xxx

Re: Tw Not Coping

I had a chat to someone in the past. They were telling me that they felt unsafe talking to their boss. That their boss ignores them, walks right past them, is always negative, talks to everyone else but doesn't talk to this particular person....

@Shaz51 @Birdofparadise8 @creative_writer @Captain24

I thought for a while as this person explained how they felt about the situation - ie that they wanted to leave their job, look for another job etc because their boss would sabotage everything.

After a pause, I asked the person... "So have you made any efforts to speak to your boss? Have you said hello? Have you approached them? Do you think they can read your mind?"

Later on, this person told me that they gave it a go and said 'hello' to the boss. From then on, it was realised that there was actually nothing between the two. However, the person had a negative tint on their glasses which made everything seem a little... bleak? shall i say?

What I'm trying to say is that if we teach our brains to re-frame thoughts, we have a better change of creating a 'wise' mind.
