Not Coping

Not Coping

Hey everyone how are you all?

@RiverSeal @Shaz51 @NatureLover @tyme @Former-Member @Eve7 @Former-Member @amber22 @Jynx @FloatingFeather

I'm not doing great at all today. I'm feeling down. I also keep beating myself up for everything and feel like I'm just failing. I need a break from everything. It's getting so hard that I don't know how to keep going anymore especially since I can't talk to anyone around me as they are leaving me or don't understand.

Hope you don’t mind me reaching out I just really need a chat and though I could come on here and vent and talk for a bit.

Thank you

@Shaz51, you deserve a break after everything you've done 🙂 . I only did a bit of reading today, already exhausted lol. I guess it's an improvement from yesterday.

Re: Tw Not Coping

I’m a bit disappointed I got my hopes up @creative_writer my psych called me back and had a meeting with his supervisor, but he said he wasn’t able to help because of the time frame and that me being in Melbourne wouldn’t work. I was really hoping for something when he called but never mind I’ll just go back to spiraling.

@Shaz51, prescribed social work chapter. Uni starts in two weeks, I thought it would be a good idea to practice studying since I haven't studied since the end of last year. Coffee sounds good, what kind of coffee do you like? I limit my coffee to the morning since I am extra sensitive to caffeine, but it does help with starting mornings. xx

@Birdofparadise8, aww, sending you hugs. That really sucks. Have you tried looking up psychs in Melbourne? It can take a while until you can see a psych, so it would be good to get the paperwork sorted.

Re: Tw Not Coping

Yes I’ve literally been emailing and calling everywhere and I can seem to get into anyone till march and this was in December so I’ve been waiting a while. Well I feel like it’s been a while from going to weekly sessions to nothing is hard.

No one seems to believe me that I’m sick I just wish someone would. I know my psych did but like ethically I thought he would have helped more but anyway @creative_writer I am really good at disappointing myself.

Re: Tw Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8, I'm not sure if you would qualify, it would totally depend on your postcode. There is always the HOPE (Hospital Outreach Post-Suicidal Engagement) team which provides intensive support for individuals with suicidal ideation. There may also be other supports available for your location, I was able to get some free counselling sessions in between my psych appointments, and there wasn't a long wait for those counselling sessions, I was referred through HOPE towards the end of my treatment period so I had more support after discharge. I am not able to see my psych as often as I would like, you know they reduced medicare rebated sessions to 10.

Re: Tw Not Coping

Okay how would I get into HOPE when I haven’t been to ED if I feel I’m not coping when I get to Vic should I just go and they may refer me to them @creative_writer.

I’m a little confused do you mean you had support and then got into HOPE?

Yeah I know it sucks now it’s 10 sessions.

May I ask you see a psychologist privately and how do you see your counsellor sorry I’m a bit confused?

Re: Tw Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8, my psych contacted the CAT team and I spoke to them on the phone, who referred me to acute community mental health who referred me to HOPE. I didn't go to ED. Yeah, I see a psych privately but the counselling sessions I get for free are separate from the medicare rebated sessions. The counselling sessions are through Care in Mind.

Re: Tw Not Coping

Okay maybe I could ask my counsellor at KHL if she could contact them and see if they can help the CATT in Vic @creative_writer.

Thank you for clearing that up I hope you don’t mind me asking.

One other thing so the CATT team only referred you to someone for them to refer you to another service. That must have been confusing for you.
