Not Coping

Not Coping

Hey everyone how are you all?

@RiverSeal @Shaz51 @NatureLover @tyme @Former-Member @Eve7 @Former-Member @amber22 @Jynx @FloatingFeather

I'm not doing great at all today. I'm feeling down. I also keep beating myself up for everything and feel like I'm just failing. I need a break from everything. It's getting so hard that I don't know how to keep going anymore especially since I can't talk to anyone around me as they are leaving me or don't understand.

Hope you don’t mind me reaching out I just really need a chat and though I could come on here and vent and talk for a bit.

Thank you

Re: Tw Not Coping

Waiting is certainly the hard part @Birdofparadise8 .

One of the main skills I learnt in mentalisation based therapy was to be okay sitting with not knowing. It understand and truly accept that IT IS OKAY not to know. And this was really a hard concept to come by, especially for me who likes to have everything organised and planned out.

I remember one therapist saying to me, "Your worrying won't change a single thing about the situation. Rather, it eats you up and that time can never be regained." This understanding really hit me. I knew my worrying wouldn't make a difference.

Re: Tw Not Coping

My experiences have really wisened me up... @Birdofparadise8 .

By the end of group therapy, I was known as 'the wise owl' LOL...

I used to be so impulsive, erratic and rash with my emotions and actions.... now, I've learnt to get things done efficiently, but to also pace myself.

I think these are life skills people learn with life experiences.

At this time, I still can't believe I am who I am today. I lived so long in a deep, dark hole, and never thought I'd get out.... I think I live each day in awe that I am alive - that is probably what keeps me going...

Don't get me wrong... I have plenty of 'crap' things happen... but I don't think I let it 'get to me' nowadays.

Also, working as a peer worker has really been so helpful to me too.

@Birdofparadise8 hon, I think we should be hopeful. The future is uncertain and unpredictable. And like @tyme said, worrying doesn’t change anything.

@Birdofparadise8 take your time to respond and process things. It’s okay if none of it makes sense.
