Not Coping

Not Coping

Hey everyone how are you all?

@RiverSeal @Shaz51 @NatureLover @tyme @Former-Member @Eve7 @Former-Member @amber22 @Jynx @FloatingFeather

I'm not doing great at all today. I'm feeling down. I also keep beating myself up for everything and feel like I'm just failing. I need a break from everything. It's getting so hard that I don't know how to keep going anymore especially since I can't talk to anyone around me as they are leaving me or don't understand.

Hope you don’t mind me reaching out I just really need a chat and though I could come on here and vent and talk for a bit.

Thank you

Re: Tw Not Coping

Unfortunately, BPD is highly stigmatised @Birdofparadise8 .

It is very different to other MH conditions. People with BPD are often dismissed as being 'attention seekers', 'drainers', 'manipulative'. It is believed that a longer stay in hospital will cause BPD-ers to become too dependent on others due to their 'attachments issues'.

I guess BPD really needs long term psychotherapy, and this is not something a short inpatient stay can offer.

However, if you go to private clinics, then it is different. If you are deemed not overly 'high-risk' and it is a planned stay, you can participate in their recovery programs over a number of weeks. Very costly though.

I have spoken to carers of those with BPD, and a short hospital stay for their loved ones is something THEY need themselves due to carer fatigue which I completely understand.

It's such a tough one.

Ah okay all good @tyme

I don’t think I have BPD anyway just the psych said I have a few of the symptoms.

It sucks that it is stigmatised by people.

Re: Tw Not Coping

That's why BPD advocates are working so hard to break this stigma. This is also where BPD awareness week came from @Birdofparadise8

Re: Tw Not Coping

Well that is a good thing then @tyme

Mental health as a whole needs to improve. There is stigma for all illnesses.

That’s good @Paperdaisy

To be honest I’m really struggling tonight.

I just don’t know what to do anymore. I feel absolutely terrible. I’m just so sad, I feel so alone and worthless.
