Not Coping

Not Coping

Hey everyone how are you all?

@RiverSeal @Shaz51 @NatureLover @tyme @Former-Member @Eve7 @Former-Member @amber22 @Jynx @FloatingFeather

I'm not doing great at all today. I'm feeling down. I also keep beating myself up for everything and feel like I'm just failing. I need a break from everything. It's getting so hard that I don't know how to keep going anymore especially since I can't talk to anyone around me as they are leaving me or don't understand.

Hope you don’t mind me reaching out I just really need a chat and though I could come on here and vent and talk for a bit.

Thank you

Re: Tw Not Coping

Yes @Birdofparadise8 - black and white thinking is certainly attributed to BPD.

I didn't understand this at first, but what I've learnt is that it's a sort of ALL or NOTHING approach. So you may like someone and see no fault, or you may hate someone and see nothing but faults.

Or, you may judge a situation as GOOD or BAD, but can't see the good and bad of a situation.

Another example is that when life is 'good', it's terribly good. And when it's 'bad', it seems like the end of the world...

Is this what you are asking?

Oh okay well I’ll find out more tomorrow when my psychologist calls.

How are you today @tyme ?

Re: Tw Not Coping

It'll be good to write down any questions you may have for your psychologist tomorrow @Birdofparadise8 .

I've just remembered another thing. Black/white thinking can also be seen in those who are sooooo invested in a mission, hobby, organisation etc. They full passion and zeal is very evident. However, this can also later turn to complete withdrawal from the thing you were so keen on in the beginning.

But yes... very interesting condition BPD... and very misunderstood unfortunately.

Ok will do. Lots to learn if I do have it.

Did you have work today @tyme?

Re: Tw Not Coping

Oh, forgot to answer @Birdofparadise8 . I'm pretty okay today. I have this subconscious stress because I have work to catch up on but can't seem to make myself do it....

It's like having an assignment that just needs to be tackled. It's that sort of feeling.

Re: Tw Not Coping

Definitely get that hahaha procrastination is fun. I hope you can get it done soon then. You got much on for the rest of the week @tyme?

Re: Tw Not Coping

Yes, I did work today. Today is actually the start of my working week @Birdofparadise8 - I enjoy it. I can't complain. It's really good. I usually work W-F and Sun, but some weeks I work Wed right through to Sun. It suits me fine.

Do you work?

Re: Tw Not Coping

Sounds good then. What is your job @tyme?

Yes I do work I have one part time job I work once a week as an administrative assistant to diabetes nurse educators, and I also work for Covid at home I’m casual there but I get anywhere from one to four shifts a week. Both are good jobs but the diabetes is a bit more exciting then the Covid one.

Re: Tw Not Coping

Hey @Birdofparadise8 ,

That sounds very handy to be able to do those things from home. I guess the hybrid model of working that has come in has meant a lot more people are able to work in places 'out of reach'... it's also made services such as SANE really 'blossom' because people have become more adept to connecting via technology.

As for my work, I am a peer support worker and a BPD advocate. The work is incredible! I love connecting with people with lived/living experience. I have a huge passion to support those with BPD, and reduce the stigma that comes with the label.

Re: Tw Not Coping

Oh I work at offices in Hobart actually in a call center.

Sounds nice then @tyme.

I have a questions with quite BPD. I don’t really see myself as having attachment issues as I haven’t had like a romantic relationship and my other limited relationships I don’t seem to need to be attached to them. With your experience is attachment a red flag for quite BPD.

Thanks
