Not Coping

Not Coping

Hey everyone how are you all?

@RiverSeal @Shaz51 @NatureLover @tyme @Former-Member @Eve7 @Former-Member @amber22 @Jynx @FloatingFeather

I'm not doing great at all today. I'm feeling down. I also keep beating myself up for everything and feel like I'm just failing. I need a break from everything. It's getting so hard that I don't know how to keep going anymore especially since I can't talk to anyone around me as they are leaving me or don't understand.

Hope you don’t mind me reaching out I just really need a chat and though I could come on here and vent and talk for a bit.

Thank you

@Shaz51 aww. I have to be conscious to some extent because of migraines, but I take it a bit too far at times. I become too overly cautious that it becomes anxiety and unhealthy. Balance is key with everything, I just don’t have that. Maybe it’s a coping mechanism in a way too. Xx

Hey @creative_writer ,

I'm not sure wanting a healthy diet is a bad thing. Yet, having the anxiety of not having a 'perfect' diet may be more harmful than good. After all, what is a 'perfect' diet?

What our bodies need is heavily reliant on environmental factors e.g. hot day - need more fluids, exercising? need electrolytes, engaging in sedentary activities? low kj food...

Iv'e always been told, eat everything in moderation. So moderation is key.

Thoughts?

Hey @Birdofparadise8 @creative_writer ,

Just to let you know that the Peer Group Chat is about to begin. I'll be moderating that chat tonight.

Hope to see you there. https://www.sane.org/peer-support/peer-group-chat

Hello @tyme @creative_writer @Shaz51 @amber22

That was a good chat. I really enjoyed it. I have never done one before, and I will definitely join again.

Great way to make my very stressful day less crappy.

Re: Tw Not Coping

@tyme moderation is key. My obsessive with perfect diet is probably just a mask for my other issues. Perfectionism often is. It doesn’t end there, I feel like I must be perfect in every single way possible, and I get frustrated that I can never achieve that. But I feel like if I was perfect I would be more worthy. Maybe it’s my low self esteem. I feel like I have to make up for all the baggage, damage and brokenness I carry within me.

@Birdofparadise8 I am glade you feel less stressed after the chat. Peer support is so valuable 🙂

Re: Tw Not Coping

We are so happy to have you @Birdofparadise8 - I moderate the peer group chats once or twice a month.

I'm glad it helped with a not-so-pleasant day.

I'm confident you will find more supports in Vic.

Re: Tw Not Coping

@creative_writer - would you say it is like because there so much uncertainty, food is once thing you CAN control - hence you do focus on that?

I found I had this issue - it ended up turning into disordered eating. I worked on it a bit with my clinician in therapy.
