Not Coping

Not Coping

Hey everyone how are you all?

@RiverSeal @Shaz51 @NatureLover @tyme @Former-Member @Eve7 @Former-Member @amber22 @Jynx @FloatingFeather

I'm not doing great at all today. I'm feeling down. I also keep beating myself up for everything and feel like I'm just failing. I need a break from everything. It's getting so hard that I don't know how to keep going anymore especially since I can't talk to anyone around me as they are leaving me or don't understand.

Hope you don’t mind me reaching out I just really need a chat and though I could come on here and vent and talk for a bit.

Thank you

Thank you @RiverSeal

Just a lot going on in my mind at the moment can get a bit overwhelming at times.

Re: Tw Not Coping

Yeah, I appreciate the community on here and being able to talk about what is going on is very helpful @RiverSeal

I wish something would change. I always seem to be like this, and nothing is working. I have work today, and I know from how I am feeling this morning that I will go downhill from now.

Re: Tw Not Coping

It can be really hard when things seem to be the same all the time and nothing works. Recovery and coping with how things are can be tiring at times and life demands we show up and go to work. Finding something, even the smallest thing to help you do that to get through the moment has worked for me. What has worked for you in the past when things get like this?

Re: Tw Not Coping

I try so many things, some good and bad, but nothing seems to be working. I use self-harm sometimes, which isn't a good thing and let myself spiral. Still, I do good things I try, such as going for a walk or run, reading my book, meditating, watching tv, listening to music, progressive muscle relaxation and the five sense activity. When I get self-harm urges, I try and use ice or flick a rubber band on my wrist.

I don't understand why these all don't work. Maybe I am just beyond help at this point.

Though I also reach out to SANE, Kids Helpline and headspace when I need extra support @RiverSeal.

Re: Tw Not Coping

@Captain24 glade your morning has been smooth and productive.

@Birdofparadise8 I am sorry to hear you are not doing so well today. It can be hard to resist SH urges. We are here for you. Sending you lots of hugs 💖. I really appreciate the support, but I’m not sure if I can talk about things over here, they are too heavy.

Re: Tw Not Coping

You are doing a lot of really good things to support yourself and I particularly think that your safe SH options are great. And reaching out to Kids Helpline and Headspace is amazing when you need extra support. Don't forget our drop-in service here at SANE and we have the Guided Service where you can connect with a Peer Support Worker and Counsellor too.

No one is beyond help and sometimes we just need to try new things to keep it fresh!

Lovely to chat with you this morning @Birdofparadise8! 😊

Re: Tw Not Coping

Hey @Birdofparadise8 @creative_writer.

Im doing ok at the moment. I have found that when I get up I need to start doing something. Hence I have done so much this morning and every morning.

I write a list of what I need to accomplish in a day. I just keep going until it’s done. Otherwise I will focus on my stress and spiral. I know it’s easier for me as I have a whole house to myself so it’s only me doing the stuff.

When I have done my list it means I’m allowed to then sit back and relax. When I feel myself start to go flat. I try and tell myself that I have done a lot and should be proud. I focus on what I have done and go and look at the big achievements. I don’t know how many times I’ve looked at the cupboards in the spare rooms and the linen cupboard.

Im not ‘bragging’ I’m just trying to let you know how I’m dealing with things. With all that’s going on, usually I would crash badly.

I don’t know if you can, but would your parents appreciate the linen closet resorted. Or cupboards in any spare rooms? Or all the housework done for them. Can you re-sort your cupboards in your room? Re-arrange your room? Move the bed around and see if a change helps?

Just some suggestions, as I’m starting to feel lighter with all that I’m fixing. If I don’t start the day busy I end up with no motivation for anything and have to push myself really hard to get at least one thing done.

Hope this helps a little.

Thank you @creative_writer

Well, I am here if you want a chat as well. I can handle whatever you have to say.

Hi, @Captain24When you get started on something, you can't stop. I have currently cleaning my room. It is disgusting, so I need to clean it before I go, but I have worked at 1, so I can't do it anymore.

I try to keep myself busy, but sometimes sitting and feeling the sadness is okay. I wouldn't say I like to sit with it myself, but sometimes it is okay too.

Do you try to deal with how you feel by keeping busy? I like to do that as well. You have done great today with what you have completed.

Hey, @RiverSeal, I am just starting with the GS, and it's a great support option. I get to have a weekly check-in with Peer Support Workers, and I am soon starting counselling sessions, so it will be good to see how that goes. Yes, I use the drop-in line. I find it beneficial.

Re: Tw Not Coping

Yes @Birdofparadise8 keeping busy is what’s getting me through. I’m not usually one that can’t stop but at the moment I can’t risk stopping.

It is ok to sit with the hard times but at the moment I can afford to. I need to keep going or I will start worrying about this psychiatrist app.

Maybe put some stuff in your bed so when you get home from work you have to sort it out. If you are busy tonight it may help. Just a suggestion.

Also sometimes I find it helpful to have a little time away from here. Just a day or 2 I find helps me. Plus when I’m in a bad space I’m careful what conversations I have. That’s just me though.

I hope you have a good shift
