Not Coping

Not Coping

Hey everyone how are you all?

@RiverSeal @Shaz51 @NatureLover @tyme @Former-Member @Eve7 @Former-Member @amber22 @Jynx @FloatingFeather

I'm not doing great at all today. I'm feeling down. I also keep beating myself up for everything and feel like I'm just failing. I need a break from everything. It's getting so hard that I don't know how to keep going anymore especially since I can't talk to anyone around me as they are leaving me or don't understand.

Hope you don’t mind me reaching out I just really need a chat and though I could come on here and vent and talk for a bit.

Thank you

Re: Not Coping

ok, so at least you don't have to present it to too many people @Birdofparadise8

I guess there are pros and cons to presenting after the break. Yes they get more time but at least you get it out of the way and don't have to worry about it anymore.

So a bit older than my daughter. She turns 19 in September.

I always said I wanted 2 children before I was 30 and did.

Re: Not Coping

Yes, it is @Snowie

I know but we didn't get much instructions on what to say and what bits we can just point to.

Yeah, I'm a 2003 baby.

Ah, okay. Sometimes, circumstances prevent that. My mum wanted four kids, but after me, she couldn't have any more. We both nearly died.

That's good. When did you get married?

I won't finish uni until I'm 25, so I want to work for a bit before having kids. I would like to have them at 30 as well, but I'll have to wait and see if I can find a man.

Circumstances do change things @Birdofparadise8

At least you and your mum survived, that's the main thing.

I got married when I was 23 but had been with my husband since I was 16. I definitely know I was lucky that I found my soul mate so young. I only ever wanted 2 kids, regardless of their sex. I guess I was lucky and got one of each.

That is a long course. When you finish your degree what type/s of job can you apply for?

Re: Not Coping

Yes, that would help.

Mum and Dad didn't get married until they were in their 30s.

That's a bachelor's and a master's. Plus, the year I did in tas for the diploma I've got, so six years are all up.

Dietitian is the job. I want to work in a hospital in inpatient and outpatient.

I've also been considering research as well, maybe half and half, and trying to get into a Ph.D. program or something. Dr Birdsofparadise hahahah. Then, I could also teach dietetics at uni.

Like I haven't minded the form of the research assignment I'm doing on emotional intelligence, but if it was nutrtion related and I could get to talk to participants and create a study, that would so fun.

I've just got to be smart enough for it. Though one step at a time, I just need to get through tomorrow and the rest of this semester. I shouldn't get to excited. I don't want to get my hopes up if I can't even get into masters of dietetics.

Sorry that was a ramble @Snowie

Re: Not Coping

That would be an amazing job @Birdofparadise8

Those 6 years of study would be so worth it. Certainly something to achieve.

It sounds like you have big dreams which is wonderful. We all need to aim for things and have goals in our lives. Nothing wrong at all to look into the future.

Re: Not Coping

That is true it would be fun @Snowie

That's at least another 5 years of full time but if I did part, time a lot longer.

Re: Not Coping

I made friends with some people that were in some of the courses/online seminars, and these are the people I talk to each few days 🌺🙂

I also volunteered for organisations that gather information from people with lived experience and met people there too 🙂

I kind of got started looking at advocacy (the equivalent for youth is here: CHF youth forum )

and I enrolled in statements of attainment in mental health through tafe where I met fellow students who also had their own lives experience (made friends since then and catch up online regularly).
I also look online for workshops with reputable Australian organisations that offer learning for free around peer roles, as well as connecting through organisations I have become members of.
I found these just by googling 🌺🙂

let me know what you think ☺️

Re: Not Coping

I guess it would depend on what other things come up in your life whether or not you continue full time or part time @Birdofparadise8 At least you have got the option or either.

Better go, need to clean the bathrooms today.

Thanks for the chat this morning, was really nice.

Talk again soon.

Re: Not Coping

Right, okay, I want peer support, like one on one.

I don't think I could do any more volunteering at the moment, with how busy I am. @Former-Member
