Not Coping

Not Coping

Hey everyone how are you all?

@RiverSeal @Shaz51 @NatureLover @tyme @Former-Member @Eve7 @Former-Member @amber22 @Jynx @FloatingFeather

I'm not doing great at all today. I'm feeling down. I also keep beating myself up for everything and feel like I'm just failing. I need a break from everything. It's getting so hard that I don't know how to keep going anymore especially since I can't talk to anyone around me as they are leaving me or don't understand.

Hope you don’t mind me reaching out I just really need a chat and though I could come on here and vent and talk for a bit.

Thank you

Re: Tw Not Coping

HI @creative_writer ! Did you go shopping alone or with your parents?

Hi @Birdofparadise8 - what did you get up today? When do you hear about your course?

Re: Tw Not Coping

I’ve just been at work I finish in ten minutes and I have nothing to do so that is good. Though I’m feel pretty awful today to be honest I’ve been flat all day it’s just getting worse I’ve literally been trying to hold back my tears at work all day. I’m just so over feeling like this all the time.

I do have some good news though I got an appointment with a psychologist so that is good. He said that it’s going to hurt working with him and stuff so that scared me a little, but at least he is being honest. @tyme

I hope you can do something nice for yourself after work that will make you feel better.

Yeah maybe I will see though I’m not sure anything will help at this stage, but thank you.

What are you doing tonight @tyme?

Re: Tw Not Coping

@Birdofparadise8 and @tyme I went with my parents and sister. Just got some new shoes, my dad insisted on paying for it. Is it normal to feel drained after shopping. Or maybe it’s just hot?

@Birdofparadise8 therapy can be tough at times. That’s why they often say it often gets worse before it gets better. I really do hope you are able to get relief from psych appointments.

@tyme this is a bit of a weird question. So I have been looking at the guided service, but I have weekly therapy sessions so feel guilty that I am thinking of getting more support. Can someone have too much support? But then again, I contact SANE helpline so often that I feel like the counsellors know me now.

Re: Tw Not Coping

Yeah, shopping can be draining indeed! @creative_writer - I certainly find it draining.

As for the guided service, it doesn't mean you have to have a session every week. It can be fortnightly. It is also recovery focused which means each call is to work towards a goal. I think you should go for it. It will also keep all your notes together.

At a certain time in my recovery, I set myself the challenge of waiting until a scheduled call before speaking to someone. This was so I could work on strategies in between. However, this was later in my recovery. I would write down everything I needed to talk about in my next session and go to the sessions prepared.

Although at the beginning of my recovery, I did reach out when I needed it.

All in all, yes, go ahead with the Guided Service.

Re: Tw Not Coping

@creative_writer . You can also divide up what you want to work on with each therapist. e.g. you can work on emotional regulation with one therapist, and work on empowerment with another?

Have a think about what you want to work on so that your sessions can be targeted. This will be most helpful in the long-run.
