Welcome and getting started

Hello

Hello

I've just joined the Forums. I have anxiety and depression and am currently recovering from a relapse which happened 2 years ago. I was hospitalised for the first time in 35yrs and it has left me traumatised from the experience.

I stayed in bed for all of last year but this year I am trying to get out of bed and cope through the day.

I look forward to learning and interacting in the Forums.

Best Regards.

Re: Hello

Thank you for your reply. I have peer support phone calls every 2 weeks and that helps.

Getting out of bed every day is a way of moving forward for me and gives me the chance to see how I cope with the day.

Best Wishes

Gypsy

@Gypsy11

When did you first seek out to understand why you felt your anxiety or depression?

Re: Hello

I was first diagnosed at 19. I'm 55 now and am still reaching out for support.

Maybe it's a bit like the ocean @Gypsy11 ... the waves are always ebbing and flowing but the occasional stormy weather is hard to deal with. I've been living with MI for nearly 40 years too.

Do you have the support of family and loved ones? It can be hard going it alone.

Re: Hello

Yes. I am lucky to have a very supportive husband.

My twin sister and younger brother don't really understand what I go through but they try and support me as best as they can.
