Something’s not right

Struggling: TW suicide

Struggling: TW suicide

I have been struggling a lot lately with suicidal thoughts. It’s become a daily occurrence and it’s been really overwhelming to cope. I am safe right but having to fight this is very exhausting. I feel so trapped, I am tired of living in pain, fear and shame. I feel like a burden to people and unimportant.

@tyme the weather has been insane. It’s the end of spring but doesn’t feel like it. I need to get back to my exercise routine, got out of it when becoming sick. I was doing a combination of walking, Pilates and circuit.

Any exercise is a start @creative_writer .

I tell you what I think is sort of adding to the stress? My house is not tidy. I'm trying to get things sorted since moving in, but I'm waiting on cupboards to be built. Hence, having 'mess' is not helping!

I hope I can also engage in some sort of exercise routine to benefit my mental and physical health.

Thanks to you, I just took two fish oil capsules... lol. I'm not expecting miracles, but it's a start 🙂

@tyme I feel like moving houses is a common stressful event. It does take a while to settle in and make it home. I hope the transition eases for you.

Some exercise is better than nothing. We can both motivate each other 🙂. I sure hope next weeks weather is doable for walks. It keeps raining. I like mixing indoor and outdoor exercises. I don’t think I could purely be a gym girl. Do you have nice walking areas near your house?

I think fish oil takes it time. Like diet and exercise. Slow and steady is always better too.

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

Thanks for your support tonight @creative_writer . It means a lot to me 🙂

As for exercise, I always feel self-conscious at the gym. I have been to my local women's only gym, but seriously, exercise is NOT a priority. I really just don't like it.

Hence I need to do it with people. I am booked in for salsa dancing classes and zumba sessions. I just need to get up and go and stop making excuses!

I really don't like moving houses...

I have a heated swimming pool at home, so I can get into that.

@tyme I didn’t even do much lol, thank you for the support 🙂.

I get self-conscious too. I joined the gym for a while but then since covid I’ve been exercising from home. I did have some time to learn some exercises at the gym, so can do those at home now. But I obviously wouldn’t recommend a complete newbie starting off at home. Don’t think I’m going back just yet. Maybe one day I will go for a few personal training sessions otherwise I am happy at home.

Zumba and salsa sound lovely. I did Zumba years ago at my undergrad uni gym.

Moving houses is always stressful, I have lived in quite a few houses and it’s stressful each time. Heated swimming pool sounds nice.

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

I had my psych appointment today which brought up some uncomfortable feelings. I'm realising how growing up feeling invalidated has caused me to invalidate my emotions and experiences. Like lately I find myself invalidating my experiences of SA and this has prevented me from placing myself on the waitlist for a service because I felt like it wasn't bad enough.

It sounds like a bit of big realisation @creative_writer ❤️

How do you think it will change things for you?

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

@Former-Member ❤️ I guess I’ll need to learn to sit with and validate my emotions and experiences. I do still feel torn about the service though. Like I know I’ll be on the wait list for a few months so I have time to decide. I’ve been advised to go on it in case I want to go through with it.
