Something’s not right

Struggling: TW suicide

Struggling: TW suicide

I have been struggling a lot lately with suicidal thoughts. It’s become a daily occurrence and it’s been really overwhelming to cope. I am safe right but having to fight this is very exhausting. I feel so trapped, I am tired of living in pain, fear and shame. I feel like a burden to people and unimportant.

I'm listening to depressing music about feeling worthless. Is this helping or making my mental state worse? At least it makes me feel less alone.

I've done that before @creative_writer !

I listened to depressing music when I was feeling low. I can't say it helped to lift my spirits though... i think it sort if validated my feelings of depression.

What do you think?

I can make you a cuppa if you want 🙂

@tyme I guess it does give the validation I need. I don't if I feel worse because of it or if it's just that things feel intense because I am no longer numb.

I hope you are feeling better today 🙂

I'm feeling pretty 'myeah'... I'm not down. I'm not up. @creative_writer

I've caught up on sleep, so I know it's not sleep that's the issue. I think I have outstanding work due... you know, like those assignments that just need doing? Similar to that feeling.

I just can't get motivated to do it....

One good thing... since our fish oil discussion, I've been having 2 fish oil capsules everyday. Whether it helps or not, I've got a bottle, so I may as well have it 🙂

How's your day been anyway?

@tyme didn't really get up to much. My plan was to do assignment work after my morning psych appointment but was an emotional mess afterwards, so I guess I'll need to work on it tom. I emailed my tutor to clarify the assignment task.

I hope your assignments go well 🙂 , it's just that time of year right now. You can do it at your own pace and I do hope the fish oil helps,

That too @creative_writer - in a way, I feel like this year has flown... we are already at the end of the year!

I remember the end of the year used to be such a trigger for me. There would be less support services, too many social gatherings, too much stress... so many inpatient stays back then during the end of year period.

However, there was one year where I said "This year will be different"... and it has been every since. I've been able to schedule in activities and pace myself. I no longer dread it any more...but you are right... it's that time of year... people are tired. People need a break.

As for your assignment... all the best with it. I don't really have an assignment for uni or anything... i just have work to do that I'm procrastinating about!!!!

Oh @creative_writer - i did eat tuna today. I really enjoyed it. Just tuna in chilli oil with rice and veges. I'm really bulking up fish in my diet since our conversation lol

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

@tyme I hope work goes well. The end of the year can be tricky for some people. I'm not sure if I really find it any more stressful. I guess there is less professional support but I suppose it really depends on where I am mentally. Right now I definitely need support, but it's okay I will have some support while my psych is on leave. Though a part of me wishes I was more independent and didn't need people but then they tell me I am a human. I guess I never really grew up with support so thought it was easier to not need it. I have one more appointment with my psych to go this year.

Tuna with chilli oil sounds nice. I had fish, bread and sweet potato. .

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

I live on my own and don't have supports around me, so professional supports at the end of the year were very important. At first, admitted to inpatient units, then I was under CATT at the end of the year to reduce the need for inpatient stays, then later, it moved to admission into PARCs at the end of each year, then finally, I walked out of PARCs and pretty much said, "I won't be needing this anymore - I can do it"... and haven't been back since. @creative_writer Don't get me wrong, PARCs was instrumental in my recovery. To this day, I can't thank them enough! I got so much out of each stay.

Out of curiosity, what type of fish do you normally eat? I don't like the taste of basa.... it tastes like muddy water to me... I like steamed salmon or raw salmon, but not fried. Barramundi is okay, snapper is okay...as for tuna, i have to be in the mood for it.

@tyme you have certainly come a long way, and it's amazing 🙂 . At this stage, I've only been suggested a short-term service for managing suicidal ideation. They provide up to 8 sessions over the phone or in person, so should be good for 2 months. I think it should be enough for when my psych is away. I assume they won't be running on public holidays though, but there are always helplines available then if needed.

I just had Hoki because that's what we had in the freezer. I think as long as the fish is high quality, you should be good. I think the sourcing is important.
