Something’s not right

Struggling: TW suicide

Struggling: TW suicide

I have been struggling a lot lately with suicidal thoughts. It’s become a daily occurrence and it’s been really overwhelming to cope. I am safe right but having to fight this is very exhausting. I feel so trapped, I am tired of living in pain, fear and shame. I feel like a burden to people and unimportant.

@Former-Member In bed right now, about to sleep. Thank you. I hope you have a restful sleep. Sweet dreams ❤️

Skincare is definitely self care and you definitely deserve all that love ❤️. It does actually take a while to find what works though.

I've been having body flashbacks lately and I feel like some of the details of the traumas that were omitted from my memory and flooding into my mind.

heya @creative_writer, I'm only here for a short time today, but just wanted to send you a big hug ❤️

It sounds like a whole heap of new information/emotion for your brain and body. It sounds like it's pretty difficult ❤️ From my own experiences, this has happened with me every now and again too. It really sucked for me.

I wonder if it feels enough to share that this is happening at the moment, or if there is something else you would find useful and supportive? I never want to assume what folks need ❤️

@Former-Member ❤️🤗❤️🤗. Thanks for the support. I don’t really know what I need right now. I am mindful of triggering others and I don’t feel comfortable anyways to say much about it because I don’t want to retraumatise myself. I can always raise up the issue when I speak to my psych next week.

How am I ever going to process this trauma myself? I feel so alone.

Hi @creative_writer

It can be so hard to know what we need when our minds feel like they are in this mixed up kind of state. You may already do it but journaling always helps me to process things when they are 'stuck' in my mind. Often drawing and using really dark colours helps me too. Kind of gets it out of my head and onto something else that's tangible.

Big hugs to you when you are dealing with so many emotions right now.

@hanami it is difficult. I write poetry, don’t really journal because I feel like I just can’t keep that up. I feel like poems capture my emotions better too. Drawing could possibly help when I can’t find any words to describe the pain. It’s hard trying to process things alone between appointments. Sometimes things can come up, I realised some things about my trauma yesterday and it took me off my feet.

I agree that it can be hard to keep up with journalling. I love poetry. I love to read poetry especially. Do you also read it? What are some things you like to do for self-care. My favourite thing at the moment is to sit in our massage chair at the end of the day.

Hugs

Hanami ❤️

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

@hanami ❤️🤗 I don’t actually read much poetry. Maybe I could find poetry to read over the summer break, just have two and a bit weeks to go for the semester. I’m going to take a longer shower, so I’m going to wash my hair, use a hair mask and exfoliate my body.

I guess I’ll need to hold on until Wednesday for my psych appointment. I don’t know if I could talk to anyone else about what I’ve processed yesterday.
