@creative_writer, it sounds like you've tried so many self-care strategies and use other other ways to cope with the pain. I really admire your determination and open-mind when it comes to trying to figure all of this out.
Are you worried about SH tonight? I thought I'd also share this discussion on Self Harm Awareness Month- March 2022 which talks about harm reduction and alternatives ❤️
I know we have a few common experiences in our lives, but I know for me, the main things which helped me move through the pain of SA have been
- finding one safe and secure relationship to focus on and prove myself that that exists and to focus on (friend, family, therapist, barista - it didn't matter how small or irregular the interactions were. Just someone I felt comfortable around)
- Time and space. I know it sucks, but it really does take some time for this pain to heal. You're working so hard on your mental health and that might be frustrating. But how far have you come? Even reflecting on improvements you might think of as "small can help"
- I can be hard, but I've found thinking of a time in the future where I'm free from the pain helped to give me hope.
I know our journeys have some differences, but I know that for so many of us, the pain isn't truly healed, but it can get much lighter ❤️
I wonder though, how far have you come or what changes have you seen since this happend?
