Yep @creative_writer. I feel that!
I know from my own experience that everyone who tries to help with trauma management asks you to discuss the trauma and/or the incident, or incidents, in detail. I think that they use this as a foundation to create individual management strategies. I struggled with that as well, but I have learnt over the years that there is no uniformed management plan. Unfortunately trauma is specific to the individual and that each plan looks different and needs to be based off the trauma itself. I have found someone that I really jell with recently. Prior to that, I was never able to go into detail and I would give up on finding a management plan. Maybe you just haven’t found your person yet? I do think that in order to unpack trauma, you need to feel very very comfortable with someone and share similar views on strategies.
I have written a few poems myself over the years. I even wrote and performed a rap for my sister at her wedding. It was very silly, really, and I am far from talented, but it is a lot of fun. What kinds of fiction do you like writing? I am a really big reader and I’m very interested in people who can write. I think it is such an admirable skill and I am in awe of people who can do it.
