Something’s not right

Struggling: TW suicide

Struggling: TW suicide

I have been struggling a lot lately with suicidal thoughts. It’s become a daily occurrence and it’s been really overwhelming to cope. I am safe right but having to fight this is very exhausting. I feel so trapped, I am tired of living in pain, fear and shame. I feel like a burden to people and unimportant.

@creative_writer I wonder if that's a helpful way to think about it? It's a safety mechanism for now, and might be a choice for now (while it's useful). But maybe overtime it might change. And like you said, you're still learning how to feel/be safe.

I'm also sorry about things being extra hard ❤️ Sitting with you and here to support you

@Captain24 I have to tread carefully with most antidepressants. I did find eventually find one that helped quite a bit and doesn’t send my mood off whack. Everyone’s body responds differently and can be hard to predict. I seem to be experiencing really bad depression again. I’m too scared to increase the dose because I’m afraid of being sent to an extreme agitated state of depression. I could take the pure hypo, but it’ll probably not be very good for my migraines or stability in the long run.

@Former-Member I’ve started going to uni, so social interactions have been very slow since I’m not really used to it. I feel like I need to go slowly right now until I feel safer ❤️

@tyme I feel so trapped and I’m not coping. I contacted SCBS the other day, contacted SANE today, talking helped a bit, but my heart keeps hurting and hurting. I don’t know what to do about uni, I feel like I’m unable to study, I really don’t want to defer this semester but what option do I have? I’m tired of having to be silent about all the trauma I’ve been through, it’s really affecting me mentally and physically. The price I pay is so high. My mood has de-stabilised and I’m constantly tired and achy.

I hear you @creative_writer . Your health is of utmost importance. Uni is and will always be there. I here for you.

And @creative_writer , the course you are studying can also be quite triggering. I hope you find the space to feel 'ready' for study in this field. DO you have any options to get credit if you do end up transferring to another area of study?

Then again, if this is what you want to do, I also support this. But for now, let's work on lifting some of the heaviness from you. You don't have to sit in it alone.

@tyme at this moment I am monitoring how things go. Things have been really hard this week. I never expected to be here right now. I think the vicarious trauma from my volunteer work a few month back triggered my issues. I’ve taken a break from it for now.

I acknowledge how hard things are for you at the moment @creative_writer -

I am somewhat happy to hear that you've set some boundaries in that you've taken a break from something that may cause vicarious trauma. Well done on this.

I hope things get a bit better for you.

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

@tyme been on a break for a while now, don’t think I’ll be back for a while at this point, it can wait. It can be hard when when one has their own unhealed trauma too. I know it was the best thing to do for me, but I do still experience feelings of shame. I know you have to look after yourself before you can be there for other people. I think a lot of us grow up thinking we need to put others before us. Sometimes I find myself wanting to please other people even at the expense of my own well-being. I guess you sort of learn over time that you can’t live your life as others want you to, and everyone is imperfect and can make mistakes, not all advice is the right thing for you. I guess I’ve had such a sheltered upbringing, many decisions were made for me by my really protective parents.
