Something’s not right

Struggling: TW suicide

Struggling: TW suicide

I have been struggling a lot lately with suicidal thoughts. It’s become a daily occurrence and it’s been really overwhelming to cope. I am safe right but having to fight this is very exhausting. I feel so trapped, I am tired of living in pain, fear and shame. I feel like a burden to people and unimportant.

I find it can be a bit hit and miss @creative_writer I also find that it depends on the mindset that you go into the call with. If I think it’s not going to help then I feel like it doesn’t. If I think it will help usually it does. That’s just how I’ve found it.

I get impatient waiting to get through as well.

Hopr you can get on and it helps even just a little bit.

@Captain24 I feel like I should have waited on the phone. I feel like I have a tendency of hanging up too early because I get so agitated. if I call again, who knows how long I'll be waiting for.

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

Hey @creative_writer, just wanted to pop in and offer some support. Honestly, I don't know many people who don't get frustrated having to wait on hold! So I think your response is very understandable, especially as it sounds like you're having a really tough time at the moment.

Sometimes when I'm stuck on hold, I will try to occupy myself with something else to help keep my hands/brain a little busy - just simple stuff like folding laundry or colouring in. But if you're currently feeling too agitated to wait again, I think that's fair enough.

Maybe you could try again later, the wait-times might be a little shorter (hopefully). Sitting with you in the meantime 💜

@Jynx ❤️ I could definitely try later if I feel like I need to. I contacted SCBS again and it seemed to help this time. I think the person I got was more helpful.

Ohh @creative_writer I'm so glad to hear it! I think sometimes it is just luck of the draw, and like we don't always connect with everyone we meet and the same can be said of MH professionals we encounter. Sounds like you had a helpful experience which makes me oodles of happy to hear 😊💜

I’m glad this call was better for you @creative_writer

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

@Jynx absolutely! It can often be a hit or miss, same with MH professionals. I am glade many MH professionals are realising the therapeutic relationship is a very big driver of success in treatment. ❤️

Suicidal thoughts have settled down a bit. I just hope my body starts feeling normal soon, still feeling very uncomfortable.

@Captain24 i think it’s often about who we get too. But when things are intense it can be disheartening if things don’t work out the way we want them the first time around. I hope you are doing better and your appointment went well ❤️

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

Me too. Intense, circulating suicidal thoughts. Life feels meaningless and hopeless. What's the point anymore? I see no future, other than complete darkness.

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

It wasn’t as bad as I thought @creative_writer I have had a pretty big medication change so the psych said I wasn’t to go back to work for at least a week just to see what happens.
