Something’s not right

Struggling: TW suicide

Struggling: TW suicide

I have been struggling a lot lately with suicidal thoughts. It’s become a daily occurrence and it’s been really overwhelming to cope. I am safe right but having to fight this is very exhausting. I feel so trapped, I am tired of living in pain, fear and shame. I feel like a burden to people and unimportant.

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

Feeling a bit better. Wouldn’t say things are perfect but more bearable. I just hope I can get out of this depressive episode and move past the past trauma. Past trauma has left me feeling so incomplete, broken and damaged. It’s hard to feel so worthy and loveable now. I had so much taken from me. I’ve processed quite a bit since the end of last year, which left me with more vivid memories. It’s so hard to talk about too, I feel like not many people can hold that space. I don’t feel like they can love me. I don’t feel worthy. Can anyone ever look me in the eye and say they really care and love me after everything that has happened? I feel like at the end of the day, my past wounds had a role to play in worsening bipolar symptoms.

@tyme having a rough day. I feel like an idiot in a way for reaching out for help so much today. I was on the verge of SH. I’m okay though, I haven’t done anything yet. I am going to hang my clothes and eat dinner before I do anything I regret, my room isn’t the safest place for me right now.

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

That sounds like a good idea @creative_writer - it's good to know what can keep you safe. If you think being alone in your room is not safe, I'd encourage you to go out as you mentioned.

Having this understanding is so important. Even if you don't feel like seeing people, if it will keep you safe, i guess it's about pushing yourself to do it.

I know you can do it. I'm with you on this.

@tyme will have dinner soon. I just want to refresh my face first and I’ll put on my evening glasses. It’s been really warm today. Not doing so well physically, migraine is on the milder side, but I feel so weak and faint. Don’t know if it’s the migraine or stomach issue or both. Do you think I am becoming needy by contacting helplines a lot lately? Reaching out goes against with the mindset I grew up with.

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

Well put it this way...people don't contact helplines for 'fun'. They do it because they need if for that time. It doesn't mean this pattern will remain for ever. @creative_writer . So no, I can't say you are contacting them 'too much'.

However, I think it will be helpful if you get someone to manage your overall care so that they can determine when it is time to step-back and let you experience controlled risks.

@tyme working on getting the support that I need, right now I am just having weekly therapy sessions which doesn’t feel enough. I just want to prevent escalation to a crisis. I am also meant to continue taking my PRN for now since things are not stable. I did get a referral for the pdoc I was looking at.

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

Did you end up referring for the Guided Service? @creative_writer Hope that will help.

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

@tyme, yes I completed the self-referral form yesterday so hopefully can get that soon. Otherwise with psychiatrist, I can ask about cancellation lists. The amount of emotions I experienced today was insane. I feel a bit better, but those emotions haven’t really gone away. Logic and emotions don’t always agree. Like I know having multiple mental illnesses and SA are not my fault. But I feel so ashamed of having mental illnesses and having those unwanted experiences. Then I’ll start convincing myself I’m unworthy and unloveable because of all the baggage I carry.

There is a lot to carry it sounds @creative_writer . Yet I also know there is life beyond that. As you reach out and work through some of these traumas, things will shift.

I never thought I'd be alive to tell the story - but I am.
