Something’s not right

Struggling: TW suicide

Struggling: TW suicide

I have been struggling a lot lately with suicidal thoughts. It’s become a daily occurrence and it’s been really overwhelming to cope. I am safe right but having to fight this is very exhausting. I feel so trapped, I am tired of living in pain, fear and shame. I feel like a burden to people and unimportant.

oh @creative_writer, I'm so sorry it's a bad day for you too ❤️ You're right, moment by moment and doing what we can to be safe for now.

How can we support you through today? Is there anything you can do or anyone you want to reach out to today to ease the weight of your feelings today?

Sitting with you,

TuxedoCat

@Former-Member I feel like I am also going into a bit of a loop, to the point I'm like should I neglect myself. Like should I care if my mental health affects my physical health. I don't long for a long life anyways. I don't see any other alternative, I am silent. I'm not sure what can be done anyways. I guess my longing for death is so strong.

I hear you @creative_writer . Each moment that goes passed is another one closer to the darkness lifting.

Do you have anyway of keeping busy so the day may pass by quicker and keep you distracted?

@creative_writer thank you for inviting me into the space with you and sharing what's going on for you. I myself know that feeling on being in a loop. It can seem like it has no end.

I'm a little bit worried about this longing you have and I don't want you to be alone with it. I'm going to send you an email to check in ❤️

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

@Captain24 ❤️ I can see if I can find something for uni to do, something that would be easy and non-triggering. Studying social work can be stressful sometimes and it might not be a good idea right now to go through heavy material. I’ve had lunch and watched a tv show which helped keep my mind off things for a bit.

@Former-Member ❤️ I’ll respond to the email shortly. Todays just been a difficult day. It’s been awful since last night. It’s a terrible feeling when you think things have gotten better but get worse again.

Heya @creative_writer, I understand, take your time in responding.

I also didn't know you study social work. I also study social work. I had some very tough, heavy subjects last trimester and it was really difficult to get through.

I'd love to hear more about why you chose social work and what you'd like to do with it, if you feel up to talking about it?

❤️

Social worker! @creative_writer .

I think it takes a special kind of person for social work. To be studying social work shows that you are kind soul. I definitely couldn’t do it. I get that it could be triggering and hard going.

Is there a series on Netflix or something that you are into that you can watch? Cleaning my house keeps some of my thoughts away. I just did some meal prep and lost track of time so that was a good and nutritious distraction! Just trying some ideas for you

Re: Struggling: TW suicide

@Former-Member social work has been amazing but sometimes it's difficult to watch certain documentaries or read about triggering things. I've been interested in youth mental health for a while so hoping to go down that path. I've also volunteered in the mental health sector and loved it. What about you, what drew you to social work?

@Captain24 I am watching a Turkish tv (but with English subtitles) show right now, it's not on Netflix so watching it on another site. We put Netflix on pause at home since they've taken so much of the good stuff off. Might have to look at alternatives apart from uni, can't seem to even read through the non-triggering social work content.

You sound like an inspiration @creative_writer Youth mental health would be interesting.

Is there a lighthearted book you could read to pass sometime and distract you?
