Hey @creative_writer read your post about not wanting continue with the referral to acute care team, but was waiting to see my case manager and didn’t have time to reply.
id really encourage you to at least give it a go and see how it works for you… that’s if they accept you. If it’s anything like my local one, they can provide so much support. I started with them and originally just had a psychologist, who is amazing. But she seen that I needed more support than just my weekly appointment with her and she is only in 3 days so wasnt really able to provide additional support outside my appointment times. So she referred me to the case manager team also. I was allocated a case manager, who referred me to participate in the sensor modulation course, I participated in a 15 week DBT course and I also see a psychiatrist attached to the case manager team monthly. On top of all that I have the opportunity to participate in a 12 month DBT course, which I am considering. If things are really bad, they will do weekend home visits too and there is always someone that I can call and talk to until like 9pm at night 7 days a week. I currently see my case manager twice a week, but was seeing her 3 times a week at one point.
So, in saying all that, if you can make it work, give it a go!
