Protective factors

Protective factors

I learnt yesterday about protective factors.

It's funny that 1 of my protective factors is debt. I have debt that I have decided I need to pay off before I could end my life. I couldn't let it be palmed off to my parents. I would be too ashamed to consider that.

My other protective factor is my parents.

I don't think I will be able to clear my debts for atleast a month or two. By then I will have seen a new psychiatrist and potentially be starting new medication. I don't know. If I make it out of this hole I will be so surprised. I'll dance down the street praising God. I'll buy a ticket to Europe and go to all the places I've always wanted to go. I'll take a bee keeping course. I'll share the gospel. I'll learn piano.

Sending kind thoughts to you all

Re: Protective factors

Finally home @Captain24 yay.

The last 2 hours were actually surprisingly bearable. I didn't feel completely useless and was able to chat to my client about some stuff which was nice, for someone who struggles with socialising and isolating myself... it was just so nice to have a moment of conversation.

I don't think there's been any significant changes in my MI, but not experiencing the 'this is unbearable' feeling is a huge relief, no matter how long it lasts. So yay to that!

Not sure what to do now... Maybe watch more diy paper tutorials.... lol.

Have a good night shift!!

Re: Protective factors

Me too now @Christheart

It is nice when you can just have a conversation. It helps me to feel better for a bit.

Having the unbearable part leave for now is be good. I can imagine the relief you must be feeling. Hopefully it’s a sign for the future.

Bedtime now for me to do it all again tonight. Last shift for 5 days. I need that to recover from the exhaustion this block has caused.

Hoping you have a good day

Re: Protective factors

It actually went none too badly... @Captain24

I have no idea why, I just felt a little better. Not as good as I'd like to feel, but not suicidal. Which is a great relief!

What are you going to be doing on your days off?

So glad it went well @Christheart

Awesome that you a feeling a bit better. That’s huge. Hope it continues for you

My days off will just involve walking the dog and cleaning. I have a lunch planned with a friend over the weekend. May head out of town for the day to go see a movie. Not exciting but at least I can refresh from work.

@Captain24 still going alright today. Not feeling the 'unbearable torment'. But a bearable amount of torment!

Walking the dog and cleaning are both very productive!

My birthday is coming up and I'm thinking of going to see a movie. I was talking to my best friend today, and I told her for the first time that I've been suicidal. It was really difficult, like I felt uncomfortable talking about it, but she was really good about it. She was asking what I want to do for my birthday, she had grand plans of going to see a musical in the city. We compromised and scaled down a little, going to see a movie at our local cinema.

I hope you're keeping warm, today was freezing! 🥶

Re: Protective factors

That’s such good news @Christheart

I’m glad you were able to talk to your best friend and that she was good about it. To me that shows a lot of strength and courage and I’m proud of you.

A movie with a friend sounds great and a little less pressure. I have to drive 1.5 hrs to get to the cinema! Hoping I get time in this break to head over.

If I can start to beat this I want to head into the city and see Mary Poppins. I need a little more strength first as it’s a 4hr drive and an over night stay and I’ll be doing it alone. That will be my reward!

Loving my ducted aircon at the moment!

Re: Protective factors

@Captain24 Mary Poppins would be so lovely so seen on stage! I think I've seen that performed once at a theatre in Melbourne, when I was 11 or 12, my grandma took me.

There's something special about a theatre, stage, lights and music 🎶 🥰
