D and her friends have booked a trip to Bali after their year 12 exams. Hoping they have a good time but nervous about letting her go.

I went with about 20 people @Snowie plus the bishop and 3 priests but only new 2 people.

It was amazing. I dealt with a lot of personal stuff while I was there and come home a different person. It didn’t last that long though as my boss ruined it. She was a bitch.

We also went to Ireland for 3 days and my host dad took me to see the ruins of a castle.

Id like to go to England one day.

I can imagine the apprehension about Bali. But at least she has a group of friends and can all look out for each other.

Have you travelled

I would love to go to England one day too. Would love to do Europe also.

We have travelled a bit, but not for a long time now. Kids will do that to you!! Once they have both finished school and are independent, then we will travel again.

Did you have any hobbies/sports growing up?

As a kid I played netball, softball and did swimming club. I did want to do dancing as a child but mum told my I could t because my bum was to big.

As for hobbies, I never had any. Every time I wanted to try something my parents told me that I wouldn’t like it and that they wouldn’t waste their money.

Oh @Captain24 , my mum and dad also told me my bum was too big to dance. It has stuck with me forever. BUT my husband thinks my bum is just perfect so I've embraced it and thought eff you to my parents! xxx

It has stuck with me too. That and mum constantly telling me I need to do ‘something about that fat gut’. She even said to me on Tuesday ‘you still have that gut’

Everyone wonders where I got my body image issues from.

I did a lot of dancing growing up. Probably too much as I didn't have time for any other sports.

When the kids were babies I used to play netball until I did my knee 😔

At netball my mum was constantly yelling at me, in front of everyone, if I missed a goal or dropped the ball. At softball she would yell if I missed hitting the ball. Swimming I got in trouble if I didn’t beat my time and was always told that my brother was much better than me. I have awesome childhood memories.

Netball is so bad for knees and ankles!

I go back to work tomorrow for 3 day shifts then 2 nightshifts.
