Hey @Captain24 ,
I'm glad your appt went well today. Do you have diabetes?
With regards to posting only the positives, it is good to set yourself boundaries. Sometimes, connecting with people when things are 'brewing' and beginning to get tough, is a good way to reduce the likelihood of hitting a crisis. We are very open to this type of posting.
However, if you DO find yourself in a very low headspace, it is important to give yourself some offline time so that you have the opportunity to get the support you deserve from crisis services. This is because, I'm sure you already know, SANE is not a crisis service - that is beyond our scope of service. This is important to remember because our forums are largely community run, which mean high-distress posts may cause distress for others.
During difficult periods, some members contact us for us to put a pause on their access so that they are encouraged to find crisis supports. Other times, members set their own boundaries and give themselves offline time. We are happy to support and ready to work in with you to come up with a plan - if you wish. If so, you can email us at team@saneforums.org
Bottom line, life is not all about positives - we absolutely understand this. It is okay to post about what is happening for you as long as you know your limits and when you should have some offline time.
Hope this makes sense!
I'm ready for a cuppa 🙂
