I can’t cope

I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

Nah, I do it in their kitchen so they sort out the mess. I just leave it in the sink because my sister doesn't like me washing each thing separately. She wants to put it in the dishwasher (oh, she won't let me stack the dishwasher either because it has to be her way).... suits me fine lol @Captain24

But the pancakes were yum lol. It's pretty easy.

Eggs, milk, sugar and flour

Hello @tyme , @Captain24

Very Interesting

Love pancakes 🥞 learnt how to make them when I was 4 😁

Re: I can’t cope

Ooohhh I get it now @tyme. You do it because it’s not at your house! Lol.

I have to say I’m pretty picky about how to stack my dishwasher too. My mum always asks where to put things. I’m lucky she doesn’t have one so she can’t tell me I’m doing it wrong!

They sound pretty easy to make. I’d still mess it up though. I really can’t cook. I guess not knowing how to make pancakes proves that!

Re: I can’t cope

Thanks @Shaz51. I can’t make them at 46!

In saying that it was never an option when we were kids. I was an adult before I ever had pancakes

Re: I can’t cope

Heya @Shaz51 ! Good to see you! I've never liked pancakes much. But last year, I had the CEO of pancake parlour come out for a talk and it was such an incredible story to hear how hard she worked to get to where she was. How she started off just working in the shop and years later, became the CEO.

So then I started visiting pancake parlour more, and then grew to like pancakes lol

Strange way to enjoy pancakes @Shaz51 @Captain24

That’s an out of left field way to start eating pancakes @tyme.

What an inspiring story.

You lead such an interesting life @tyme

Re: I can’t cope

It was part of this women's group @Captain24 . They had inspirational speakers each week. Women from all walks of life shared their stories. Another lady's story was one that also stuck with me. She was an immigrant with her husband and came to Australia with their children. They worked hard, had a home and lived lives a immigrants in Australia. Slowly slowly, the husband lost his job, was alway asking for money for things etc. The wife naively gave him the money. Long story short, she realised he had a serious gambling addiction.

Unfortunately, things got worse. They lost their house and lost everything. Domestic violence started and it was all driven by gambling.

This lady was sharing that gambling is a real issue but there IS help for it.

It was such an inspiring story.

Re: I can’t cope

That’s a rough story @tyme. To work so hard and as immigrant’s even harder to then lose it all.

I guess there is more opportunities for things like that in the city. But I think that’s kinda what they are trying to achieve with the women work event that I go to. Obviously on a much smaller scale. One of the group speak of their story each event. I was suppose to do the last one but with dad I couldn’t do it. I’ll speak at the next one if I’m able to go.

They also have guest motivational speakers that tell their story too.

Re: I can’t cope

That's so great! It would be so good if you could do it. It sort of solidifies things for yourself and also gives you time to reflect on things as you prepare @Captain24 . I've certainly found that helpful for when I've had to share my lived experience in front of a large audience. It is very rewarding though. Totally worth it.

It's not that it means that your recovery is 'finished', but more so that you can share the progress you have made.

And yes, @Captain24 , you HAVE made progress which I'm so proud of.

Young people often see getting a car, house, marriage, children as progress. But real progress is not like this.

Re: I can’t cope

I have written it. @tyme. To have written it and to actually do it, shows me how far I have come. This time last year there is no way I would have even considered it. I am proud of me too.

If I’m able to go to the next one. (Dad depending) I will do it. The HR lady said she will stand with me for support as well. Rather than leave me in front of everyone on my own.

I still have a really long way to go but I have come a good distance. Progress is definitely more fulfilling when it comes from within! Wow that’s deep!

Thank you so much for tonight. My night wasn’t going well but being on here has kept me distracted. I can now say I’m going to bed safe. I couldn’t have said that earlier.

Thank you for everything you do.

Have a good few days and I’ll see you during the week
