I can’t cope

I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

I hope you enjoy the movie @Captain24

I'm glad your parents are taking you out for dinner.

Hoping your day goes well.

It’s been a really good day. I’m glad I took myself out today. The John Farnham movie is really good. Lunch was good. I did some shopping. The olds took me out for dinner and spoilt me with presents. But the card my mum gave me was really heartwarming. I think she has realised that she isn’t as approachable as she thinks.

Ohh @Captain24 I am so pleased you had a wonderful day for you birthday 😊

It’s actually the first birthday I have enjoyed in a longtime @Shaz51. Considering I didn’t think I’d have another one. I’m really glad I made it though.

I’m a bit anxious about my first psychologist appointment tomorrow. I’m not sure what to expect.

That is understandable @Captain24

I am assuming it will be a bit of a get to know your session. Making sure that you feel comfortable with them. I know with my psych it took a few sessions before we started talking in depth about my issues.

Re: I can’t cope

Hey @Captain24 ! How are you?

I read you are a bit unsure of your psych appointment tomorrow.

Look, you were unsure of meeting your fill-in CM and it turned out okay, right?

Seize the opportunity with your psych, and be open to what they have to say I guess. If you feel uncomfortable about something, you can let them know also.

I hope you find one you connect with. I had quite a few before I really connected with the one I currently have. I just wish I could speak to him more, but he only works one day in private practice....

Thanks @Snowie. I just wanted an idea

of what to expect. I’m ok with a getting to know you session.

Hi @tyme. I’ve had a really good day. My mum gave me a really heartwarming card today.

How about you?

Re: I can’t cope

Awwww, @Captain24 . That's so sweet of her. Honestly, I know she cares, and I'm sure you know she cares too - it's just that some people don't know how to show it.

With a new psych appointment, it's generally your lead. They will ask some general questions and go from there. If you feel a bit anxious, let your psych know, "I am feeling a bit anxious because I don't know what to expect". When you have that on the table, you will naturally actually feel less anxious.

I learnt that when I was doing speeches. I told them straight out that I was nervous as a way not to be nervous... weird, but it works.

All the best with tomorrow. I'll be on tomorrow night to hear how it goes. I'll also be on the Peer Group Chat tomorrow.
