Ah ok, a small hospital wouldn't have a PW. It would be nice as they are often more available than a CM and just having a talk with someone can help.

She use to be available more regularly but she has taken on a new role which involves travelling. I’m not sure for how long. She was only able to keep on a couple of patients and she chose me as one. @hanami. There is another nurse I can talk to if I need but she is only young. I just feel useless that I’m old enough to be her mother and she has to help me. She is lovely and helpful though and my CM gets her to ring me if I send her a concerning email when she is out of town.

When I said to my CM I was considering peer work she did say that they needed them. I looked at the course but it’s online classes and I can’t commit with my work roster. So I’m considering cert IV in MH instead.

@Captain24 I did my cert 4 in peer work online through MHCC. There was only one online class every few weeks and the rest was work at your own pace. Mental health cert 4 is also a good option.

I know what you mean about feeling old enough to be someone's mother. At 53 I really relate! I remember seeing this super young GP for a script update for anxiety meds and she was giving me advice and stuff but it felt so odd.

Such is life though!

I’ve arrived at my appointment 25 minutes early. I’m a little anxious that they may do biopsies. I’m ok with getting them cut out. I can watch them do it but I hate stitches. I can’t watch them and I can’t look at them.

I had 2 biopsies done. One on my arm and I can see the stitches. 🤮 The other behind my ear so I can see them! The one behind my ear is a concern. The one on my arm they are checking just in case it’s a melanoma.

But I do have Vitiligo. Is a skin pigmentation disorder. It usually comes with an autoimmune disease. So now they are looking into that too. So I have more bloodwork to get done.

Oh @Captain24 I feel you. I hate stitches too. I had a melanoma 18 months ago. Discovered and taken off within a few days. The scar is on the back of my arm so I can't see it. But I do notice it now and then and shudder. It looks like a shark bite. I hope they come back all clear but honestly if they don't you can be sure they can be taken off and you'll be al good. Thinking of you.
