Something’s not right

I can’t cope

I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

Re: I can’t cope

Pixie does the same thing @Snowie. We had a bbq Monday night and she was watching everyone for food. She would take food from them but other than that she wouldn’t go near them…

My dog will eat anything I am eating @Captain24

I probably spoil her a bit too much.

I hope the prn help tonight. Have already taken some today and will be taking more tonight.

@Captain24 I'm glad it came together well. Even better, making amends with relos.

Go slow and go gentle on yourself. It's a rough time.

@Snowie , had tea yet?

Re: I can’t cope

@tyme yeah had tea. I struggled to eat much but at least I got something down.

Re: I can’t cope

I’ve taken it already @Snowie. I’m planning a really early night. I need to catch up on sleep and she said I need to rest my brain.

While I don’t really understand what’s going on with my head @tyme. I do kind of understand the reasoning behind it. I have no focus so I need to find mindfulness that is only short.

Re: I can’t cope

Hearing you too @Captain24 . If I don't set up goals for myself, I end up aimless and 'lost'. And, of course, I find I don't get things done. For example, today, I had time to type up some plans. Instead of setting myself a goal e.g. by the end of these 2 hours, I will have finished XYZ...

I ended up spending 2 hours doing unnecessary research...

So it's about refocusing myself.

Goals don't have to be 10 years in advance. It can be for the next hour. Do what works for you.

Re: I can’t cope

I get the goal setting @tyme. I have to do that on any given day. Otherwise I don’t accomplish anything.

At the moment I have no focus at all. Even typing this I keep wandering. Plus no motivation. I need to try and find stuff that I can focus on for a couple of minutes and then come back to it and extend it a bit longer. 5 minutes is impossible. This is where the danger is. My head won’t stop and to me there is only one way to stop it.

My thoughts are like a sentence but I can’t finish the sentence because another one starts that’s totally unrelated

I don’t know if that makes sense. The confusion is what is going on.

Re: I can’t cope

confusion, clouded, lack of focus @Captain24 - at this time, it's probably just survival mode. As I've mentioned, you have gone through a very difficult time. Your body is probably still processing it all. Give yourself some space and allow yourself the time to heal. Tell yourself - 'this is normal'

Re: I can’t cope

I’m trying to let myself understand that it’s ok to feel like this. @tyme Its really exhausting though. I am listening to you and hearing you. People have been through so much worse and it makes me feel stupid for letting all this unravel me.

I’ve found some mindfulness! I’m sitting outside watching a storm roll in!

I was suppose to have the welcome call for the GS tonight but the peer worker had to cancel.

Re: I can’t cope

Cool mindfulness task! @Captain24 ! Pay attention to the shades of grey.

As for 'people have it worse off', I somehow want to say that that doesn't mean you do no matter. The 'shock' and 'stress' threshhold may be the same for both which means you both feel your situation equally difficult. And therefore your bodies respond in similar ways - fight/flight/freeze.

What a shame about your GS call! Was I right in saying someone else was supposed to check-in with you? I'm not sure though.
