Something’s not right

I can’t cope

I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

@Captain24

I am well enough. I keep a mantra of "good enough is enough" to help ground myself.

I see a lot more pressure upon everyone to perform just hanging in the ether. Its good you can see your way forward and know you will get through.

I'm hearing you're having some trouble with motivation at the moment @Captain24 I'm sorry to hear it. I hope that today has been a little better for you <3

Re: I can’t cope

Hey @Jynx

Its good to see you.

I think I’m stuck in paralysis. Not sure. But I did manage to clean the inside of my car today for the first time in a million years. I needed to get all the cigarette ash out as I’m trying really hard not to smoke anymore!

Other than that I have laid in bed and done nothing. I haven’t even started packing!

How are you going? Any plans for walking along the water now it’s warmer.

Re: I can’t cope

That’s a good mantra @Appleblossom

I’m trying to focus on the positives but fail a lot! I do k ow that there is a good place that I can be in and it will happen again. I do think it’s the right attitude but I actually do believe it!

Of course,

Always happy to listen to you @Captain24 🫶 (Just responding to your message from the 30th).

How are things feeling now?

I am glad you have your spiky ring. I wonder if things like stomping and jumping, shaking your body, punching or screaming into a pillow, or crying may also help?

It's really positive that your mind was able to reflect on your ability to manage challenge. I know this feels like a step back, but your ability to so quickly critically reflect is proof of your growing capacity. I hope that you can sit with that for a moment. 💛

Re: I can’t cope

Maybe you're in need of a bit of down time @Captain24 ? Doing something to nourish yourself, like visiting the beach or something?

Good job on the car though! Always a difficult task haha I always forget it needs to be done until I'm driving somewhere, and then I can't cos I'm doing something else :P

Walks along the water would be good I think, maybe for us both!

Re: I can’t cope

Hey @AuntGlow

Thank you.

Im a little different. I feel the adhd paralysis thing right now and I have so so so much to do!

I kind of feel empowered. I feel that if I had the strength to do that then I can do a lot. I went ok at work for the first time in a long time. I didn’t want to go because I was tired but coped ok while I was there. The concerning thing is that empowerment is addictive. It’s like I need to do it again to keep the feeling.

Im not really happy at the moment but not sad either just a little low. Low energy and low motivation. I don’t really have any interest in doing anything

I can try those things except for screaming. I actually can’t physically scream! 😂

I will get back to the place I was in I just have to ride through this at the moment. It’s still there and not really far away. I do see hope just not sure when. I am looking for more positive than negative so that’s a massive improvement from ever before.

I just got an email from my psych checking in. I was meant to have an appointment today but had to cancel due to the fact that I just couldn’t afford it. It’s so nice that she has checked in. She will probably get an essay back.

How are you going?

Re: I can’t cope

I think so @Jynx but I just don’t have time for it. I need to get shit done so that I can walk along the beach next week!!!! I am so looking forward to it!

I guess I just start tomorrow as a new day. I have mum and dad coming around in the arvo so I will have pressure to have stuff done and sorted. That may help.

It was disgusting. There was gross stuff in the cup holders where hot children and stuff had spilt. It was horrible but now it’s great I just need a new air freshener to try and get the cigarette smell out!

It’s not far to the beach for you is it? Or is it just getting there?

Re: I can’t cope

@Captain24 oh you are hitting up the beach next week? Glad to hear it!

New day mentality can definitely help, same with that external pressure hey.

Hot children eh? I assume you meant hot chocolate lol. But yeah it can get pretty gross hey! Hard to keep it clean in the moment. Been meaning to pop a pack of wet wipes in my car but keep forgetting!

Depends if I want to visit a busy beach or an empty one :P

Bit of a trek though. But definitely worth it!

Re: I can’t cope

Of course, I always try to reply when I can 😊 @Captain24

My days off were good, they went so fast though! I was away for my step-brother’s wedding, which was a really fun day/night.

That’s great to hear you’re sleeping better and have found the right mask. Hopefully it continues to make a difference for you. And it’s good that work wasn’t as hard as usual, even if some days were still a struggle

It sounds like you’ve got a lot to get done before you go away. What usually helps you when you have heaps of things to do? I find making a list and prioritising it helps me, but I also try not to put too much pressure on myself. If I only have the capacity for a couple of things, I’ll do those and slowly work through the rest over the week. Music definitely helps too to get things done.

28 hours without a smoke is pretty impressive! I’m sorry it’s been such a struggle though. If I remember correctly, you are trying to quit smoking at the moment?

I’m doing okay, I’m sooo tired though. I think I’m still wired from the weekend festivities, and with my ADHD it takes me a while to recharge afterwards
