I can’t cope

I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

So so true @Captain24 - i couldn't agree more!

I have always emphasised that recovery is hard work. It is NOT a magic pill that 'fixes' everything overnight. Let alone BPD....

MH recovery is such a journey. And the best thing about it, the person themselves is the maker of that journey. Yes, there will be environmental influences, but ultimately, it is OUR STORY.

Random conversation change! @tyme

My nurse talked about peer support work on Tuesday. I was just whoa slow down. Let me get through this first. I don’t think I’m any where near ready. I do see it in my future though. I did look up a tafe course but its online classes and with work I can’t commit.

She suggested uni but I haven’t really looked into that yet and wouldn’t know where to start. I think after not studying for 30 years it could be a little too tough.

Just thought it was interesting

Re: I can’t cope

You are soooo made for peer work @Captain24 - not sure if you need uni for it at this time.

There are many place looking for peer workers - trained or untrained. I was trained on the job. I had other degrees, but I never thought I'd go into peer work. It is remarkably rewarding.

I just feel you have so much to 'give' in terms of your experiences. Also, by nature, it seems like a good fit.

I'm not saying go into it now, but you can keep an eye out for it. There are all sorts of peer work jobs out there. Theres working with the aged, youth, children, adults. There's face-to-face, telehealth, forums, home visits, group visits etc. The sector is growing my the day.

A lot of scope for very rewarding work!

Re: I can’t cope

My nurse said they need peer workers at in her department @tyme . I know I will never really fully recover but when I know I am stable and have dealt with my demons then I will look into it. I can do it in my days off.

I’m heading to bed. It’s been a really big day. Plus I just realised I haven’t had ‘the crash’ woo hoo go me!

I hope you have a good night and I’ll chat over the weekend.

Thanks so much for tonight. I really appreciated it

Re: I can’t cope

I think I may be changing.

For someone that’s a loner, has social phobia and anxiety, I’m craving human company. Maybe it’s because I haven’t worked for 3 weeks and haven’t really been around anyone?

I usually prefer being in my own. Maybe as my bipolar and the rest are starting to settle, I’m not the loner I thought I was? I don’t want a big group just one or two people together would be nice.

Hey @Captain24 I feel a bit random popping in but this post gave me such good feelings I wanted to say hey 😊 It's such a beautiful reminder that we as humans are forever, ever so slightly, changing shape 🌱 Do you have any ideas how you might find ways of connection?

Re: I can’t cope

Hey @Former-Member. Feel free to be random anytime. It was a bit of a random post. Especially coming from me!

I actually feel a little bit of joy about it. It shows to me my growth. I have actually just connect with someone on Facebook from 13 years ago. They live 1 and 1/2 hrs from me. Next time she is in town we are going to catch up!

She is lovely and helped me through some stuff in my past. She has no idea of my life now! I’m excited as she was a great friend.

Re: I can’t cope

Aw, yay, now I'm excited! 😀 That's so great @Captain24, you've totally inspired me. I can have a real tendency to withdraw myself, sometimes I forget that connecting can be just as recharging and healing even. I hope you keep finding ways, no matter how small, to seek out that connection. Thank you for sharing your joy, friend 🌻
