Something’s not right

I can’t cope

I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

Re: I can’t cope

@Captain24 how was the walk sweet? Sitting in the sun sounds lovely.

I'm almost finished my room, dealing with alot of noise here and I'm feeling overwhelmed (I'm safe).

Re: I can’t cope

That’s ok. Can you put music on the contract the noise? @MissGremlin Do

Do you wear headphones?

The walk was good. I ran into a guy from work but we just said hello. It wasn’t very far but the dogs took the lead so it was their choice.

The sun is nice. I’m going to sit here for a little bit and then weed my garden. I don’t want to bug you are motivating me and me helping you makes me have to do it! 😂. I will just do it one step at a time though. Weed the whipper snipper then mow then clean the porch!

Re: I can’t cope

I agree. It can be so hard to find support, but even harder to find someone who is the right fit for you. I’m really glad you’ve found that with your psych @Captain24 😊

It’s great that telehealth has worked well too, especially since she’s able to continue supporting you from a distance

Yeah, I get that! Even a shorter catch-up is still a chance to connect, and it sounds like that balance works well for you

Cooking definitely isn’t for everyone. I started cooking when I was little and being Italian, I think it was just part of growing up haha. Spending time in the sun sounds really relaxing though, I hope you enjoy your show later. I’ve started watching The Pitt, it’s a medical drama and I’m really enjoying it so far

Aw, of course. Thank you for your kind words. I always enjoy chatting with you 😊

Re: I can’t cope

@Nala2022 I hope so. It's been a while since the last one was done.

Yes it does take time. The thing i struggle with is that nothing seems to 'fill my cup' so to speak so even when I step back I'm not able to recharge. But I need connection so it's hard to balance it cos I can't just be seeking support and not giving it to others.

It comes from years of trauma and it's not easy to relearn hope to be kind to oneself.

I've just stopped for a minute and I'm sitting on my bedroom floor, my heart is annoying me and I've got a blood nose (I'm safe). Casper is sitting right by my side with his paw on my shoulder.

Re: I can’t cope

I only see my GP face to face as I live out in the country and in a small country town so I have to Telehealth my psychiatrist and my dietitian as well. @Nala2022 But at least it helps me get support! Telehealth is awesome!

It does work well. We only do it every couple of months so that’s good.

Im guessing it was a huge part of growing up. I have a friend who I met in hospital and she loves to cook as well. I wish I liked it. I would like to bake at time busy it’s just too much to follow a recipe and having to get all the stuff and then all the mess!

I love the sun. I’m definitely a summer person! The hotter the better!

At least this chat is positive!!! I’m feeling really good again so far today!

Re: I can’t cope

@Captain24 I have music on but when they're being noisy plus the music it gets overwhelming. I have earbuds but they hurt my ears after a while.

I'm glad it was a good walk, I love that you let the dogs take the lead.

Haha we can both take it one step at a time and pause in between doing things if we need to. I'm just resting for a bit before I finish my room and then I'll move onto the next. Not sure how much more I'll be able to get done today though with my heart being silly.

Re: I can’t cope

I can’t wear ear buds. @MissGremlin thays why I checked.

That’s ok to pause. What do you have left in your room?

I’ve had to change my plans as some arsehole is parked out the front of my house! So I’ll have to do all the back instead. But still one step at a time.

Re: I can’t cope

See how you go with the Holter test when you’re able to organise it @MissGremlin

I can understand why that would feel so exhausting, when you step back but still don’t feel recharged, it can make it feel like you’re constantly running on empty. And I can also understand the need for connection, especially when being there for others is something that feels meaningful to you

It makes sense that learning to be kind to yourself and rebuild hope would take time, especially after everything you’ve been through

I’m glad you’ve stopped for a moment and are sitting down with Casper beside you.Thank you for letting us know you’re safe. I hope your heart settles and the blood nose eases soon. Do you think you need to go doctors today or do you usually get blood noses?

Re: I can’t cope

I’m glad so many services now offer telehealth too. I use telehealth for some of my appointments as well, it’s definitely much more convenient sometimes

Haha, I can understand that! Baking can feel like a lot when there are so many steps and things to organise. Maybe something simple like muffins could be a good starting point one day, usually just mixing everything in one bowl and putting the batter into the tray 😊

I wish I could say the same about the heat. I love the warmth, but anything over about 26 degrees and my skin does not cope well ☹️

Aww, I’m really glad you’re feeling good today @Captain24 💛

Re: I can’t cope

@Captain24 I got distracted. I took Casper out then decided to pick up his business then came inside and ended up doing the dishes.

I need to find somewhere to put my lucky star stuff in my room.
