Something’s not right

I can’t cope

I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

Re: I can’t cope

@Nala2022 it was definitely scary but it did eventually settle thankfully just not fully cos its still been doing it. Even while I'm trying to do things now I notice it happening every few beats.

You're so welcome ❤️. Thankyou sweet, I try hard to support others even when I'm struggling. Unfortunately there's times when I have no choice but to step away as I find that I have nothing left to give.

It's very much a reminder to myself aswell as my thoughts often take over. Maybe I should listen to my own words to others more often 😂.

Re: I can’t cope

@Captain24 i probably won't vacuum today as I usually do the whole house at once. But I'll move onto the 2nd room after I've finished my room.

Hope you enjoy chatting to mum sweet.

Re: I can’t cope

It sounds like you’ve found such a good fit with your psych @Captain24 😊 I love that she asks those deeper questions and helps you reflect, even though I can imagine it’s exhausting afterwards

I hope you enjoy your lunch with your friend. An hour sounds like a nice amount of time, especially when social interactions can feel draining

After social interactions, I usually need some quiet time to recharge. I’ll often watch a movie or series, read (especially crime novels, I love them!), or cook/bake something. Cooking is one of my favourite ways to relax

I hope you get some nice recharge time after your lunch too 💛

Re: I can’t cope

I’m glad it eventually settled @MissGremlin. I hope you’re able to get some reassurance and answers when you speak with your doctor

I think it’s really lovely how much you care about supporting others, especially while you’re carrying your own challenges. But it’s also okay to step back when you’ve reached your limit, looking after yourself is important too.

I think we’re all guilty of giving advice that we sometimes forget to apply to ourselves 😂. It sounds like you’ve written some really thoughtful reminders though, and I hope you can be as gentle with yourself as you are with others 💛

Re: I can’t cope

@Nala2022 when I see my doctor next I'm going to ask for a referral to do a holter test again.

I haven't always recognised when I need to step back, that's come with alot of practice and over time. I still struggle alot with it as I feel guilty for leaving anyone when they need support.

I'm great at giving advice but not taking it myself 😂. I'll try hard to be gentle with myself, it's just that I don't feel i deserve it most of the time.

Re: I can’t cope

That’s a good idea @MissGremlin. Hopefully the Holter test can give you and your doctor some more information

It really does take time to learn when we need to step back. I’ve found that too, once we recognise those signs, we can give ourselves time to recharge and look after our own needs, which also helps us be there for others in a healthier way

I’m sorry you feel like you don’t deserve that kindness though. I hope over time you can start offering yourself even a little of the same compassion you so naturally give to everyone else

I’m the same, giving advice is always easier than taking it ourselves 😂

Re: I can’t cope

I’m home from my walk @MissGremlin and now sitting in the sun for my grounding time.

How are you going?

Re: I can’t cope

The fit with my psych is amazing and everyone deserves to find someone like her. She can read my face really well to. She was concerned about how it would go being Telehealth but it works just fine. She was my facilitator while I was inpatient. She is 4 hours away so I don’t see her inperson very often. A couple of times during the summer when the days are longer and I can get there an back in daylight. @Nala2022

It is a good amount of time. It gives us time to catch up on everything and leave. No awkward silences and not long enough to delve into to much stuff!

Thanks for the ideas. I don’t cook as I just despise it! I’m not a big reader anymore but sitting and watching something g sounds doable. I normally just let it overwhelm me and go to sleep. But I’ll definitely try spending some time on the grass in the sun, I’m really enjoying that and I’ll watch little house on the prairie as I’ll have everything done by then. The house will be clean and the lawns and washing.

Thank you for being around and talking to us. I really do appreciate the time and care you put in.
