Something’s not right

I can’t cope

I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

Re: I can’t cope

@Captain24 I'm not even sure, I hope not. I'm feeling so triggered right now, the night everything happened like 5 years ago I had made egg bread and it's exactly what I just made. I'm safe, I've had a cold drink and I did my dishes. Just feeling really sick as that night keeps playing out over and over again.

Even better that they're not in captivity.

Well done, it's so exciting when you're close to finishing, like you can see that home stretch.

I had French toast with cinnamon sugar, it was yummy. Maybe having something little later if you get hungry.

Re: I can’t cope

It's so awesome to hear that you have been trying to have a better day for yourself after such a challenging experience @Captain24!! I am proud, and I really hope you are proud of yourself too!

How's the last couple days been? Hope you have been able to get some rest :)

Sorry to hear things are challenging for you right now @MissGremlin I am glad to hear you're taking it slowly and doing what you can to look after yourself <3

Re: I can’t cope

That sounds so hard @MissGremlin it must fill you so much uncertainty and dread.

Im glad you have kept busy. Is there anything you can do to distract from the trauma?

These dolphins are wild and you actually get in with a wetsuit and snorkel! Not like a boom net on the back of a dolphin watch boat!

I’ll give it another hour and then cook those ribs.

Definitely will have it finish tomorrow!!! Yay!!

What are you up to now?

Re: I can’t cope

Thankyou @Jynx ❤️.

This probably needs a trigger warning but i can't do it from my phone.

Content/Trigger warning: Traumatic incident
Just everything that's happened within the past couple of hours has been all too similar to that one night those 5ish years ago. It's thrown me into flashbacks from that night. That night resulted in my world being changed forever and me being thrown by police on the ambulance stretcher and given something to calm me then I was taken to hospital. What they gave me affected my heart so then I was rushed to resus and had to be monitored, I was sent home the next day feeling like I was dying from what they had given me and having had no idea what I was going home to and the fight i had ahead of me.

Like I said I'm safe and I'm going to be doing my bedtime routine soon.

Re: I can’t cope

Thanks @Jynx. I have been trying hard. Today is a struggle though as I had trouble sleeping last night. I kept waking up a lot and was even chatting on here at 4 in the morning.

I haven’t done much today other than diamond art and a sleep. I did eat 2 meals and will be getting the third one soon. So that is absolutely massive.

I was actually thinking not long ago. That that meltdown has reduced my level of stress for work. Works been getting to me as I’m just not getting it right, plus I’ve had Pixie stress, money stress and I’m just exhausted. I’m just all over the place. Also I only have 5 shifts to go and then I have 13 days off. I don’t know if that’s helping with making going to work a little less stressful. We’ll see tomorrow night when I’m getting ready for the next day!

How has the last couple of days been for you? Are you still slowly, gently and carefully working through that room?

Re: I can’t cope

@Captain24 I'm going to start my bedtime routine soon. I just spoke about that night to get things out, not sitting with it alone helps.

That sounds so amazing, I hope you get to do it.

I reckon that's a good idea, hoping they'll be yummy.

Looks like we'll both be finishing tomorrow, unless I'm able to finish mine tonight.

I'm sitting at my table thinking I should move my diamond art to the bedroom 😂. Thinking of picking another one to start, so many to choose from 😂.

Re: I can’t cope

Definitely sounds like a challenging time @MissGremlin when everything feels so eerily familiar. I'm sorry that happened to you.

I'm glad you're taking steps to look after yourself. Is there anything else you could do to 'differentiate' yourself from that day? Something novel or an alteration from that series of events that could help ground you in the present?

Re: I can’t cope

@Jynx I've just grabbed the next diamond art that I'm going to do once I've finished this one and I'm sorting out the gems to it.

Re: I can’t cope

@Captain24 I'm glad you're taking things easy and reaching out when you need to!

I imagine that the meltdown was a release of tension and pressure buildup! I don't think it's abnormal to feel a bit lighter after a big meltdown. Crying tears is really good for that, because they allow us to release some of the cortisol out of our bodies!! I imagine the time off is a helpful thing to look forward to as well! Not long now ^_^

Just been chugging along ya know? And yeah slowly but surely, stuff is going into boxes or into the donations/hard rubbish pile! It's nice getting things into boxes :P
